  1. Great vid! The previous owner soldered the caps???? The 'machine pin strips' get soldered to the board, and depending on use of SID chips installed you just insert the correct caps into the machine pin strips. It's easy to remove/install the caps when so. hope you get it fixed!!!
  2. Every time I find a request for "Want To Buy" I send/post the info to get on the list. But I'm not sure anyone follows up as there's no indication of another run. It'd be nice if the list stats were posted i.e. 21 of 150 on list for next sammichSID kit/batch of releases. Yes, I'm on the list
  3. If you have a regulated 12V power supply...then you should be fine using 6581s and following my quick summary info ;)
  4. Here's a quick summary: 1. Jumper Configuration check 2. Insert correct capacitors to the left of each SID 3. Power supply check
  5. +1. I was experimenting with this setup last night. I basically setup a default Ensemble with each instrument (mono) dedicated to a midi channel and a corresponding default Multi Patch. In the ConFig menu I setup Ins1-3 to the 'L' VA, and Ins4-6 to the 'R' VA. Simple sounds is the key to blend the mix, otherwise you'll get frequency clash. Using the Filter helps, but you only get a single Filter per SID chip/3 oscillators.
  6. Maybe 8 chips is too much. I'm still wrapping my head around the sammichSID since I finished the build. There's a lot of options in this little box so it's hard to focus. I still think I'd like another sammichSID kit though. To build it of course ;) My ideal setup would be using one unit dedicated to stereo leads and using the other's 'multi-engine' for rhythm/percussion or other programming. I'm sure you can already accomplish the above with your MB6582 build. But I'm hungry...Wilba release some food for 2014?
  7. Seems kinda strange. So are you saying some sessions it's 100% fine and others not? Or does it work fine, then during a session go all wacko?
  8. I don't remember seeing these before, powered on the unit today and noticed them when I went into edit mode. Unit functions fine, just curious. If I clear the patten, exclamations are displayed on all 16 steps with no sound as should. Picture attached.
  9. So did anyone pick-up this fabolous thing?
  10. I'd imagine it'll be low. All my synths are typically routed to the pre-amp, the same with sammichSID.
  11. Thanks for the reply! I thought there were some minor variations in chip design effecting sound, but guess not! I just finished the build so looking forward to learning my way around the synth.
  12. Has anyone tried? I assume it's ok since these both use the same capacitors/jumper settings. I was wondering if the sound is altered (i.e. positively, negatively, different?) when combining the chips. monads
  13. I scored the unit, but upon arrival it was dead. It would power-up, but no visual display rendering the unit non-functional :( Bummed I had to send it back as it looked well built/solid.
  14. FIXED. I used TL's MidiBox Patch Manager to send the patches via a PC config. Loaded perfectly :sorcerer: Guess it was a Mac and SysEx Librarian thing.
  15. I tried loading the default patches in Bank A however not all of the patches load correctly. For some reason the sammichFM skips over some of the messages. What am I missing? I’m using SyEx Librarian.
