  1. Yeah I'm getting that behaviour too, exactly as explained above, a reboot fixes it. My input is a USB controller and I thought it might have something to do with that, but looks like philwilson is using synths for input. To recap, notes record OK in Live Recording, you see them on display, bar repeats and erases them.
  2. That is very sweet & tidy.....I like it a lot!
  3. I've noticed the sync to measure is erratic on my SeqV4. In pattern mode with the same 4 patterns playing, as I move around screens I see the countdown or count up to mute/unmute working, then moments later it mutes/umutes immediately on a mute press. I can see no pattern to this behaviour and it seems to work more often than not. Also if I have drum or CC track selected sync to measure does not work. Any ideas?
  4. I have taken the values from an NG flashed core that has a working LCD on J15A. Measurements taken starting at top pins (#1), key on left side
  5. The USB 2x2 utility is for testing or using stand alone in a project, it does not need to be flashed to make the Midi I/O work in a SEQV4 build. If your SEQV4 is not in a case then you should see LED activity on the Midi I/O board when midi information is being transmitted. The IN/Out ports in MIOS Studio should say SEQV4 after flashing the latest SEqV4 firmware.
  6. Try flashing the USB 2x2 utility found in the downloads, should work
  7. Here's my notes from my last attempt at getting CV to work, in MIOS Studio I found all related signals switched and my Aout_NG PCB was tested separately in a MBNG with a Standard Control Surface and the CV worked. Aout Problem Tested and found all signals good - core J19 through line transmitter & receiver to TLV5630 pins 2/3/4. All switched as expected when using command "testaoutpin" J19 Aout TLV5630 S0 4-S0 2-DIN Tested with si SC 5-SC 3-SCLK Tested with sc RC1 3-CS 4-FS Tested with cs
  8. I don't know where you are at in testing this problem but I had similar problems that are still unresolved. Check the forum here. My clocks, gates, triggers all work just no CV and I know the Aout works because I built an NG to test it. Check the "testaoutpin" in MIOS, documented in the thread, that is particularly useful.
  9. Thank you for all your efforts on this guide. I use it all the time and the wiki format allows it to display on my the cell phone nicely. Time for some more reading! EDIT: Just read the S&ToP entry and that's the way it works for me. I do have to press the GPB twice before the mixer map is sent but I think that has more to do with the bank/program change # in the mixer map.

    CV setup help

Tested caliaout on MB_NG in the MIOS terminal and obtained the expected results, all voltages close to the inputted caliaout values on channel #1, min, mid, max, 1v, 2v, 4v, 8v. However when tested on SEQV4 app no output, meter stays at min value .008v. I usually go straight to CV Configuration to try to setup the Aout_NG, I have tried a 4 note (C3) loop on a track with output set as Aout CH#1, then init the track, with this running I can see CV_Gate action, but no CV.

    CV setup help

The line driver is working in a MB_NG configuration, giving me Aout CV and CV_Gate, drum triggers clocks in a SEQV4 configuration, just no CV. I've put the line driver aside and am testing straight from the core J19 now. Have tried 3 different power supplies and have pulled J17 at some point in the testing also, same result each time, no CV from Aout_NG when using SeqV4/wilba front panel. I have also tried reselecting Aout_NG in the CV configuration page.

    CV setup help

NOT SOLVED It came time to do major work on my modular cabinet and I thought I'd install the Aout module in it. But. I'm still having the problem of Aout_NG not working from SeqV4, no voltage when trying to calibrate on CV Configuration page. Aout_NG is selected as the output. CV gates, clocks, and drum tiggers all working from Dout module. Confirmed CV_AOUT_Type 3 in MBSEQ_GC.V4 I've tested Aout_NG from J19 on the same core using MB_NG running a "simple CV" script, Aout_NG works on all 8 channels, when MIOS Studio keyboard notes used on USB 1. In fact I've tested Aout_NG on the 3 different core boards, 1 LPC, 2 STM32F4 same results, Aout working with MB_NG, SeqV4 not. I've tested from MIOS Studio using "testaoutpin" cs -si- so to J19 with good switching between 4.8v & 0v. I can only think of something I'm not doing right in the SEQV4 installation/setup, but I've no idea what at this point, help!
  13. Nice job, maybe the nuts could be recessed a bit with the thickness of those end cheeks it looks like they could take a little routing. But I have to question the viability of this project with no wilba front panels PCB's available, (I don't know if or when Tim is going to restock) and Seq V4+ just around the corner, you might be left behind.
  14. Julian, those back panels look like they are for the older LPC17 core, do you have a design for the newer STM32F4 core ?, using what would probably be a base configuration of a midi I/O, an SD Card slot, an Ethernet port, and 1 4xIIC ports, CV D25 port, USB slots, power etc. There must be an .fpd floating around here somewhere but I haven't found it yet

    CV setup help

My problem seems to be solved now by replacing the chip, I now have the correct CV available at J5. It took so long to get around to this because I wanted to learn the SeqV4 operation, so I built a Midibox_NG to test out CV functions. Time well spent I think. Looking forward to getting CV going in the SeqV4. Thanks to all. [Solved]
  16. Here's a passive solution to what you want to do, 1 x MIDI in port feeds 2 x MIDI thru ports, no power supply. Midi thru box
  17. Thanks for the detailed response. I'm in agreement with all you stated especially credit and gain for the designer, I'll leave it at that and hope for a chance at this great project in the future. Good luck with your future endeavors, I look forward to seeing them
  18. Can I ask if the project is on hold for technical reasons or are you just too busy?, either way I understand. I just wish there was a way to get these great projects out to the forum users quicker, there seems to be a bottleneck in realizing the wonderful things you and others design here. I have lurked and posted the odd time here and learned a lot but I want to reach the pinnacle of the learning curve....:) Thanks to Andy and TK
  19. I too would like a PCB for this wonderful project, I hope it happens and I certainly appreciate all the work TK, Andy and others have done and are continuing to do for the Midibox system.

xox-heart is the sound generating part of an xoxbox made for eurorack, it has an accompanying pacemaker board, would love to get it under midi control as this guy has.
  21. I've been browsing for a STM32F4 board and noticed different boards. Are they all be OK for midibox projects? Is there only one board we should use.? here's some examples. STM32F411 STM32F407, STM32F417 Looks like they use different MCU's and have different voltages. One is cheaper than the other.

  24. Thanks you for doing this. I've read the previous 2 chapters and found the information presented well and factual. This is needed, at least by this user. and it's great to have all the information in one place.
  25. I'd like to see that DB25 on the rear of the cab to maintain clean lines up front, but that's just me, it's a great idea and I'd be in for a board.
