  1. Hey guys, is it possible to ignore Patch information that the MIDIbox SID receives via MIDI? In fact, whenever I try to playback music that contains instrument information, the MIDIbox also changes the instrument. Of course, one possibility would be to remove that information, but that's not the best way at the moment (because the information is needed by another instrument that plays alongside the SID, difficult to explain). So when I start to playback a track, the patch is automatically changed to a certain value right at the beginning of the track and I have to change it back to the one I want to use. The easiest way to achieve that would be to just have a setting where I could tell the MIDIbox to "ignore" these commands, and only to recognize the notes that are to be played. Is that possible or do I have no choice but to remove the instrument commands from the MIDI?
  2. Aaah thank you very much! Now it's working :)
  3. I also had almost the same problem, but I switched everything off quickly enough... My problem was the shunt in JR4. After removing it everything runs fine but the display is quite dark... Can you let me know when you fixed everything so I can look at mine again and find out why my backlight is so dark? =)
  4. Hey coryjrogers, I also had a little trouble with the correct display configuration and shorts that resulted from it. I'm not sure if I set JBL to 5V or 12V (I guess it's 12V as I'm using the high-power LCD), but I remember that I also encountered smoke when putting a shunt in JR4. According to the guide, it shorts R4A which reduces the current for the backlight... After shunting JR4 the LCD was bright and clear but there came smoke out of somewhere. When leaving out the shunt, the display is still lit but quite dark. It runs nice but I still wonder what that could have been that smoked there :/ perhaps you made the same mistake like me...
  5. Nice, it looks really great! Perhaps I'm stupid or something but I can't get Ctrlr to send or receive any MIDI signals... (Running Ctrlr r946 and your newest version on OSX 10.6.8) It just does nothing, my USB MIDI Controller does not indicate any data traffic. I assume I need to check the two boxes in the MIDI device settings of Ctrlr for the correct input and output device... Any idea?
  6. Hey Guys, I'm new here. I just finished my sammichSID and I love it, it works just great. But now I have one problem... I need to prepare some ensembles (especially for live performance) and I found this tool that seems to be perfect for my needs: http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_sid_manual_ed.html I'm using Mac OSX 10.6.8 and Windows 7 x64. On OSX, it always displays an error message telling "The MBSID V2 is not responding. Please check all connections!" On Windows, it can at least receive the patches from the banks, but as soon as I want to edit a patch, the program either gives me the error or it simply crashes. I'd be glad if someone can help me :)
