  1. i got the case to...yesterday in the morning. looking realy great and robust. well done!

    thx latigit on

so i only have to order at mouser and at Formulor.

    T.K. can you tell me which PIC18F4620 i specialy need for the mini-Core...at mouser i can by the PIC18F4620 I/P and a PIC18F4620 E/P?

I think and i hope that i can burn the bootloader for my self with my "Sprut"-PIC-Burner.

  2. Hey Latigid on,

sorry that i didn't set me too the list till now. To many things happend in the meantime. The mean reason was vacation...so now i am back and got your PM. I have a little bottleneck on my bankaccount at the moment but i hope i can manage it. So i set me down onto the waitinglist. Please let me know how its going on with the ordering/payment/delivery-process.

I see a little problem with that project. As you started the thread i looked to www.flikto.de because of the silicon button matrix and at the startingpoint they had enough for one order...but at the moment they dont have this buttons in stock. So at the moment it is a kind of russian roulett...if they dont get them again anymore...i have a PCB and a case for buttons that dont can be ordered anymore. I think that many people here wanna order from flikto and the fact that they dont get new in stock for the last weeks makes me a little bit scary. But okay i am on the waitinglist and if you order i am in!

  3. hi latigid on,

and the case you build...is it a full metall case or only the frontpanel? or do you plan an acrylic case?

I designed an 5mm acrylic case for my SEQ V4 so that it would be a good alternative to full metall but acrylic is not that durable in case off crashing to the ground as metal. so please give a little more details about your case!

But by the Way...i am in! ;-)

  4. Hi latigid on...

do you plan to create a kind of batchorder or do you make the PCBs and the rest has everyone to collect for themself?

If it would be a batch with all needed parts a would be very interessted in too.

The last days I read an article about a new PC-keyboard from Cherry for gamers with fullcolor illuminated keys. It would be nice if there would be any way to get on those keys because no silicon pad with these conductive coating but a real mechanical key designed to stand for millions of keypresses. Does anyone of have good contacts to Cherry or there manifacturers? ;-)

  5. its a long time ago...around last year i talked with wilba...and he told me that the sammichFM isnt dead...but he will make a new batch if he have time again. he didnt told me why he dont have time but think about yourselfs...what can happen so that you haven't the time you had before...in my special case it was the birth of my daughter and a house...thats why i havent so much time at the moment for midibox projects...but i am very confident about the sammichFM and when wilba says he will make a new batch...then he will do when the time is come. i am hoping too to get one. my OPL3 IC laying waiting around too. :-)

  6. Hello T.K.

thanx for your praise...but a little discribtion on how i mounted the panel. :-)

but befor that how is the case holding together...the first i have to say...its not that good and strong fitting like we know from wilba's sammichSID or sammichFM...i didnt have the money to make many tries till it is so good fittig that the parts holding together by themself. So i had a little help from a special acrylic glue named "acrifix 192". Its a glue which hardens under UV light and getting very very strong! I glued the sidepanels to the groundpanel so that the top-aluminum-panel fits correcly on the top and the frontpanel-PCB is fitting into the case. The mounting of the Front-Panel is very easy. I used on 6 (10mm) bolts that holds the frontpanel-PCB to the aluminum fronpanel some longer bolts (i have to look how long but i guess it was around 35mm) that reaches down to the bottom of the cases bottompanel...then it is easy...so the frontpanel is srewed to the bottom-panel with the help of long bolts in the inside...but i think i will make a video of it..its easier to understand.

For a wiki i must see how i have time but i think i can do it if you give me time for that.

I have to count the parts i needed (srews, bolts...and the lengths of it) and then i can try to post it into a wiki! :-)

  7. hi kristal=

nearly the same rubberfeets i use for those acrylic cases!

But much easyer to get here in germany!

Try out this one from "Pollin.de" :

I had nearly the same problems like you because of the "Heidenreich-Case". I allready contacted Heidenreich but for only one case it is to much they want to have and i dont like to order more than i realy need...and on the top it is a little difficult to get all the components into the case and plane to the backpanel because of the design of that "Heidenreich"-case. Thatswhy i started to create my own one in acrylic but i realized that 5mm is much more rugged then in 3mm. I allready made acrylic cases for the GM5x5x5 PCB aswell as for fairlightiii's LRE8x2 encodermatrix PCB. The LRE8x2 case i made in 3mm and because of its size the 3mm material is a little less rugged...never let it fall down to the ground...it will definitely crack. I think that will happen to the 5mm version too but not that fast as on the 3mm and the 5mm case hapticly feels much better! :-)

  8. Hi midiboxerbuilders, -modders and -programmers,

here i want to show you my version of a case for the SEQ V4. Because i didn't like the complete acrylic cases and because i allready had build the SEQ V4 Wilba controlpanel and allready had ordered the aluminum panel at Schäffer AG (Germany) i decided to create a very rugged acrylic case (only the side and buttom parts).

So as you can see in my uploaded pictures it looks realy nice and didn't cost to much...okay 5mm acrylic base material is more expensiv the 3mm but its also more solid. (costs for the 5mm acrylic parts: ~ 80€ +freight charge at "Formulor.de")

The back- and frontside engravings i filled up with paint myself by using a brush and paint it in coarse (dont let it stay/dry to long) and then using a good absorbing tissue to wipe the color out and to clean the color that is to much (on the non engraved area). you don't need any ethyl alcohol for it...dont use it becaus ethyl alcohol tends to micro fractures on lasercutted acrylic. Its enough to clean the paint with the tissue as long the color is liquid. As engraving-filling paint i used the "revell enemal" paints. They working great!

And here you can see the complete SEQ-V4 in its new housing! :-)

Okay i did the work months ago but now i had the time to post it to you!

Pay attention: the holes in the basepanel arn't in the lasercut-artwork because i didn't had the correct measurements of all the PCBs i used. But its the better way to drill the holes you need for your PCBs yourself. I used a custom made SD-card-reader-PCB and the Quad-Midi-I²C PCB from SmashTV so therefore i had to drill the holes myself...but as i said before...its no problem if you be carefull and don't push to much when you drill!

(If someone is interested in the in the artwork of my acrylic case (only the acrylic parts) post me a message and will send you the svg-file that you can modify it yourself in "inkscape" (its freeware) to your needs)

  9. Hi folks,

here is a first test of my gear.

SeqV4 is looping sequences of Depeche Mode's "Behind the Wheel" on three EMU samplers (one EMU E5000Ultra and two EMU ESI4000Turbo).

Sorry for that terrible sound...i recorded it with my cellphone...it's my first run!

    Merry Xmas!!!

(i hope that it works with the embedded youtube-video, i have sometimes problems with it!)

  10. Hi Thorsten,

thanx for your fast help but i didn't checked you new software yet cause the problem was a much easier one.

As you told the "*" means that the IIC module wasnt recognized by the core because of missing power. And so it was...one pin of the IIC-socket on the IIC-board was disconnected (could be the +5V Pin). I dont know why it came out but i reconnected him an now it is running fine again!

    thanx for your help!

    Best Regards

  11. Hey @ all,

i have a little problem with my Seq V4 from one minute to the other it stopped sending notes to the IIC Midi Out. When i open the Midi-Monitor it shows me that the SeqV4 is allready sending notes to MIDI IIC OUT1 but nothing happend on the MIDI.machine that is connected to this MIDI OUT port. If i change it with an other MIDI port form the LPC17 Core the machine playing the notes. I rebooted the SeqV4 but still the same problem. What does it mean if i open the "Event-Menu" and select the IIC1 port when there is a " * " behind the "IIC1*"...does it mean the port isnt there? Or IIC is not working???

It happend from one minute to the other...i recorded a video a minut ago where all ports are running perfectly.

Can anyone help me or give mie a hint?

    Best regards

    MaG2k

  12. Thanx for your help.

Yes i allready realised that the picture on the Mouser website doesn' match the parameters.

Can you post / link your thread about improving contrast here?

    Thanx

    Regards

    MaG2k
