Hi all. I have sammichSID and today i opened this editor pannel for ctrlr after some years but it gets stucked and freezes when i try move some parameter in the editor or when i try to edit in the arpegiator page or when i click play buttomm and much more parameters. The editor Gets stucked and i dont know where is the problem? Maybe windows 10? My soundcard? sammichSID? Something wrong with The midi config in ctrlr ? Thanks a lot. Someone can help me?

dont know because im very carefull with my synths. This failure happened without clear explanation. last time i started the sammichSID was 4 months ago and all was very nice. But this last friday suddenly one of the sid didnt sound as always. So .,.. in the period of 4 months what da hell could happened ? because i always take care and keep my synths with plastic case to prevent dust and humidity. So... don´t know , maybe a internal electronic part of the chip (these chips are very old). I have other failed sid with a bug in the volume (very loud volume) that i changed before this one, very strange behaveaurs in these old sid chips. Im praying for enjoy long time with the only one sid i have now. long life please ! ;)

finally i changed the failed sid chip (one of them) and let the other one with no problems. I have no stereo now but the sid i have connected works , no bug in the sustain.

hi guys how are you. Can somebody help me with this problem ? im using stereo because i have 2 sids. But my problem is that when i play any preset (most of them) with one speaker i hear a note always sustained forever, in the other speaker doesnt happens nothing , the note envelope is good . Here you have a video i did showing you what is happening. My question is , it´s a SID failure ? do you know anyway to fix it or i need to replace ? maybe i need to do a factory reset ? is possible to do a reset in the sammichSID ? how do it ?¿ thjanks very much, in minute 12 you can here the sustained note (never finish) always sounding , not the same in the other speaker (in this speaker the preset has finished sounding)

tassadar , i see that you have the version 2.044 , is a stable version ? i have the version 1.9g . can you please tell me the steps to update ? what software do you use to update ? the mios studio ? is easy to do ? thanks you very appreciate a guide

Hi guys , i would love to do these things and dont know if is possible: 1 - Edit a SID file with some tracker software , is this possible ? using the sammichSID of course. 2 - rip or extract the sounds / presets used in a SID file / music and save as a preset. thanks a lot.

now works ! the problem was the sound interface. I disconnected the midi cables (midi in / out cables) , turn off the unit and connect them again. Next i power on the interface again and now works with Asid player . The only thing i want now is a tracker , a sid compatible music tracker to create sid music with the sammich , do you know some tracker to do that ? a music tracker that works with the internal sammichSID chip ?

very weird . i dont know actually how do it hjaha. I lost my memory , i can´t remember what i did in 2013 when i wrote that post haha. Sorry , beleave me , i don´t know what happened with asid in 2013 hehehe. I need a hypnossis session to try remember what happened in 2013 when i said asid worked with my sammichSID heheh. Now don´t remember what i did to make it work.

i downloaded the ASID software but don´t know how work with the sammich. I load a sid file into the asid , and config the asid to my sound interface but don´t know what is missing. I have midi in cable (from sammich) to midi out (sound interface) . Is there any menu config inside sammichSID to communicate with the asid or need i other software ? im confused

thanks a lot for your answer and for your suggestion. Didn´t thought in the audio interface because i have connected other syntesizers before and with both midi cables (in and out) and nothing wrong or weird happens. My setup is only sammichSID connected to my audio interface (and no DAW initialized) . I have a tc electronic -impact twin audio interface. Mmmm a weird problem , nevertheless the sammich starts / boot up with only one midi cable connected ( IN or OUT , whatever of them but only one) . Sometimes i think could be a sammich problem in my humble opinion , i said that because with other syntes this problem doesnt happens. It seems like sammichSID is doing a "circuit bridging" or "jumping / jumper issue ?? don´t know how say in English ? Sorry for daring to make a diagnose with no knowledge. Thanks

hi all , someone knows why my sammichSID dont start up / boot up when i have connected both midi cables ? (midi in and midi out connected) . When i only have connected one of them , then no problem , but if i have connected both , the sammich dont start. Thanks. In regard to check some failure, is There any way to know if midi input and output is working ? or how do a diagnostic ? thanks very much

i downloaded the last version > http://ctrlr.org/midibox-sid-v2/ . I Connected my midi in/out cables into the sammichSID to the soundcard , opened the ctrl program, opened the pannel and configured the midi properties . In CTLR Midi Input says OK , midi output says OK , but nothing happens when i move the pannel knobs. I press the "play" button and can´t hear nothing. I press receive or INIT but nothing happens. My midi input in the sammichSID works because few minutes before i connected a keyboard and it works. So , what is happening ? . thanks you OOOP !! PROBLEM SOLVED ! I RESET THE SOUNDCARD to defaults . Sorry , problem solved. Thanks for all.

hi again. Finally i opened the box and i found the 2 chips . Two 6581 . I suppose that one of them could be wrong / not working correctly. So , now its time to do what Imp adviced . But now (im a noob of course ;) ) now i want to know how extract the sid chip (in right position) . Need i a screedriver ? need i un-weld below the board ? any tip ? So sorry im a noob. Maybe is easier than i expected. Thanks for your help !

okey i will take a look. although I break everything I touch. Btw what do you think in your opinion ? where is the audio problems? inside the sammich ? or perhaps in the output connectors ? I got change the mono / stereo inside the sammich interface ( stereo mode > http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_sid_manual_fs.html ) but still the same problem. I hear all in the right speaker but in the left speaker i hear noise , only noise . Let me see if i can solve this problem with a tecnician or something. Thanks a lot

thanks you for quick answer but the man who sold me this sammichSID said that contains 2 sid chips . Is there any way to find out / check how many sids are included in the sammichSID screen ?

hi everybody . I purchased a sammichSID 2 years ago and i realized that i only hear the output from only one speaker when i insert the jack (stereo jack) to the bottom / all the way down, however , if i put / plug the cable halfway i listen by 2 speakers (but its like a mono sound i think). So , can somebody explain me which kind of jack cables i need ? maybe stereo jack ? perhaps i have an output issue ? I have donde the same with another cable and with 2 headphones and the same problem : cable inserted / plugged to the buttom . Thanks very much
