  1. Jef, Ok. What IDE do you use? Since you are using the v4 you should be using the STM43F4Discovery as a brain correct? I have both a STM32F4Disco and a STM32F429iDisco. Unfortunately the pinout of the 429 is different because it has has a nice LCD touch screen. I use the Mac version of the tasking IDE (http://www.tasking.com/products/arm/) for a lot of my ham radio projects. I shuld be able to just use the brain for dev till I can afford the 9090 and mb909. My logic analyzer is only 8 lines. I need to get a 32 line analyzer at some point.
  2. I don't know if I can afford one before the first of the year but where are the prices for the 9090 kit? Also who did the original conversion of the MIOS for the MB909? I'm curious what IDE was used. I was able to convert it to TASKING IDE very easy but it's not so easy to be a contributor that way. also has anyone thought about making an adapter to use the STM429I Discovery board? I ask because it's only $24 and has a LCD touch screen onboard that could be useful.
  3. Ok, so I have the MB909 MIOS firmware building on my setup. Took some reworking but it builds now. If anyone here is running OSX and has a TASKING license I can provide the actual project.
  4. I'm interested in this but cannot get in on this this close to the holidays. I'm still happy to look at the code if you still need someone with c/c++ experience. I remember wanting one of Trevor's 9090 back when he first published it. I still want one and I'd love to build a MBSid and Oakley Sound Filtrex II. But I digress. let me know how I can help.
  5. I am looking to build an MB-6582 using the PT-10 panel like Wilba's and I have't seen any panels made or anything for quite some time in the forums. The links in the article to group buys apparently link to an older forum and are invalid. I have not contacted SmashTV/AVIShowTech/midibox-shop directly yet, but does anyone know if they sell a parts kit for the MB-6582? Or does anyone? I currently have 6x 6581 chips and 1x 8580(which I'll be trading for another 6581) so I'm short 1 6581 for the time being.
  6. Just my bit of knowledge on the subject in case anyone else has questions. Reflow stations are not meant for THM (through hole mount) components. Additionally they type of solder used when the C64 was produced takes more heat to reflow. Using hot-air/reflow station will produce excess non-localized heat that will damage the chip and other surrounding components. The absolute best way to remove any THM part is to apply a decent but not excessive amount of flux and use a desoldering tool. You can use an iron and solder sucker but that is far less effective than a good desoldering station. A less expensive alternative to the FR-300 is the Aoyue 474A++. In the Xbox360 repair world we use Aoyue products a lot because their rework station is far less expensive than others and so far the quality has been outstanding. My workbench consists of a Aoyue 474A++ and a Aoyue 968A+
