  1. Ahh ... I didn't see that option in basic editor when I searched for it before, not noticing I was in 'basic' edit mode. But it's possible in 'full' editor. Thanks for a hint.
  2. Thanks for considering it. Just beeps are perfectly fine. I usually prefer them as they are more distinguishable from other rhytmical elements.
  3. Big thanks to TK again! I've tried the latest MBSeq V4 release (4.088 pre5) and both displays work smoothly when following TK's instructions above. This is how the new screensaver looks like: https://vine.co/v/OjdHq3BznpJ Attaching a picture of both OLEDs running along too. Can mod's add [sOLVED] to the title of this thread please? Thanks to everyone for ideas and support! This is really great community!
  4. Thanks a lot! I hope you received your PayPal gift. And this is how it looks like: https://vine.co/v/OjdHq3BznpJ
  5. It came to me if there could be a metronome beeping out from audio output featured on STM32F4DISCOVERY? Setting two different beep frequencies and maybe length of the beep somewhere in the config or via bootloader but even predefined values would be perfect. Something like good old Atari ST Cubase. My MBSeq is not even finished but I was already scratching my head about how do I go with MIDI metronome. I'm not exactly thrilled by sacrificing one MIDI channel/voice, I would rather spend one audio channel on the mixer if I could choose. But of course I'll live happily wit MIDI metronome ;-) How do you guys run your metronome on MBSeq? Drum hits? Beeps? Something else?
  6. TK stands for The King. You are awesome. Thanks a lot!!!
  7. Just a small update ... displays went to TK yesterday.
  8. LXR's screensaver draws randomly positioned ... mmm ... how to describe it ... flowers? bubbles? ... this: https://vine.co/v/OD2OBYmB1Mq :-) But I guess whatever will work. Considering the logo animation is already in place it's perhaps easier to implement than other persons code. Behavior is the same in LXR as you've described it. Thanks for your feedback.
  9. Just for the start, I don't have functional OLED display (yet :fingerscrossed:), I'm no C programmer at all and my electro-technical knowledge is purely based on self-education. But now there is a hypothetical chance that TK might include support for 40x2 OLED displays from Raystar. And there are other OLED based projects coming. It is said that OLED's have usually shorter lifetime than classical LCD's. So it might be good to have some screensaving option. OK, 80.000 hours (forementioned Raystar specs) is over 9 years and nobody is leaving their gear on for that long but still ... it would be nice to run the same SEQ after some years without the need of LCD replacement. LXR by Sonic Potions has nice OLED too and screensaver is already implemented. I wonder how difficult it would be to borrow this stuff and implement it as an optional LCD setting? I.e.: set lcd_ss 1 for activation and set lcd_ss 0 for deactivation of the screensaver via the bootloader update app. Direct or HW dependent dynamic in-app system menu option would be of course more convenient but I don't know how relevant and feasible it would be for various apps and HW configurations. Beat me with pros/cons arguments, ideas etc. ;-) Cheers, cube48
  10. I'm sure it's the same brand and model, Raystar doesn't have any other 40x2 OLED display. Bought it even from the same store (TME Poland). But I can't speak of the FW revision.
  11. One ribbon solution was just desperate idea of desperate man who has no idea about LCD hacking :-D I made a little progress ... sort of. I've changed the lcd_type to CLCD_DOG with bootloader update app and now the two displays show their content but only in first row. Content looks like smacked together, like two lines in one resulting in a bit chaotic stuff. Forcing the lcd_width/height has no effect doesn't help.
  12. Thanks for the tips. Tried the external power adapter but with the same result. I wonder what can be different on LPC17 core which works fine with these OLED's as LCD driver hacking is out of my league. It seems I'm stuck with expensive yet very nice displays. My next step will be messing with bootloader params. Perhaps I could also try 'one-ribbon' connection ...?
  13. jbdiver, you wrote that it was just drop-in replacement. Can I ask what board do you have inside? I Any chance you had some LCD driver hack in place already? Thanks.
  14. Julian, would this be valid for current batch? Is anybody else interested in getting the panels from Julian? I'll definitely order from Julian/frontpanels.de but I don't have the back panel layout for MBHP_CORE_STM32F4 yet. All examples I saw seemed to be for 'older' board options. Have to search if there's any existing one already or create one when I have all IO's ready.
  15. I have the MBHP_CORE_STM32F4 ready with the board, no MIDI_IO, no CS yet (Wilba's CS board is on the way). Board is powered via USB, LCD power jumper is on 5V. The LCD's I try to connect are Raystar 40x2 OLED LCD's, the same When I connect them both, I get random characters/dots. If I connect only one of them, no matter which slot (J15A/B), they display the appropriate content (left/right display stuff). I tried swapping displays and cables, all is fine, it's just that they don't run/initialize? together. When browsing the forum earlier, I have the vague feeling that somebody already had similar issue but I'm not able to find that thread again. Can somebody please give me a hint what to check? Thanks in advance.
  16. Thank you guys for valuable insights.
  17. Congratz to the CS board! I see you've got the power supply ready. Gonna follow your progress as I expect to receive mine board too. Can I have a ribbon-cable-newbie question? How do you attach the cable to the connector? Is it just plug and push action or is there a special tool needed? On the connector pics elsewhere I saw little blades for each wire. Is there a specific ribbon wire distance that has to be appropriate for the connector? I've got some spare ribbon cables of various thickness but never used them with connectors so please bear with my dumb questions. I guess I'll find out when I receive the connectors but any hints or practical tips are welcome. Thanks.
  18. The new shop is online now! I just ordered control board PCB too, hooray :-)
  19. Thanks for the heads up. I just PM'd smashtv.
  20. @Hawkeye: Did you use the same pushable encoder for the data wheel as well? Edit: OK, I've found the answer in step 8 of your great photo tutorial ;-) Thanks!
  21. Hi all, A newbie here. Can somebody instruct me please how to get the Wiki account so I can add my self to the batch #3 order list? Thanks!
  22. Hi! Do you mean Wilba's Seq4 CS PCB? Which 'new online shop'? I can't see it on http://www.midibox-shop.com.
