  1. Good idea! 7809 now added to my order list. :)
  2. Thanks for the pic d2k, that's exactly what I was after. When I get some time tomorrow, I'm gonna finish the MF module with any luck. I wanted to try your suggestion of a 10k pot, but unfortunately I don't have any 10k pots around, so I'm gonna have to order one when I get time... Finally, the powering thing. Now knowing that both the MF module and CORE module need their own power IN's, I was wondering if I could put my 15v straight in to the core module, or will I melt the 7805. :o The scematic recommends between 7-10v
  3. Ok, I'm actually having problems building the thing now. All my boards are done apart from my MF module. With my MF module, I have everything soldered up apart from the diodes. Now, I decided to test the PSU part of the board, the bit you are mean't to set to 8v. Now I'm using a laptop wall adaptor as my power in to the module, which gives 15.13v DC. The output was giving a voltage, but when I set the POT to give the highest voltage, I only got 6.3v, which falls a bit short of the 8-10 thorsten recommends for the ALPS faders. Finally, I'm a bit confused about power... Does the core module need it's own power source aswell as the MF module? or does the core module take it's power from the MF module. EDIT: One more thng, does anyone have a guide or photo on how to get the correct polarity for those 32 diodes on the MF module. They aren't really marked too well on the circuit layout.
  4. I need to order around 100 LED's here in the UK. Red ones preferably. The best price I have so far is £10 for 100 LED's... Can anyone suggest anywhere I can get LED's for less please?

  6. As per subject really... Tried farnell and RS with no joy. I need to powr my Midibox LC I'm building... so any alternative solutions would also be helpful. I'd rather not use a PC PSU if possible.

  8. Thanks guys. I'm gonna try using the MAX232 chip on the LTC module, then connect my Midibox LC to the serial port on my PC as suggested my mobius. I can then keep my Midi port on my PC free for my keyboard.
  9. I'm building a MidiBox LC, and I only have one MIDI IN and one MIDI OUT on my PC. Now... I'm also using a MIDI keyboard in my set up. Now, how do I connect this lot together, since my MIDI keyboard has no MIDI THRU. I want to be able to use the keyboard and Midibox at the same time. Will a MidiMerger solve my problems? Or will I be able to use an LTC module instead? I'd rather avoid using my serial port on the PC if possible.
  10. Hi all, I'm about to start building one of these... I have most of the bits (only the MF module left to build). I'm a bit confused about some MIDI stuff tho. After reading the manual for the Logic Control unit, it says that a direct midi in and out connection is needed between the computer and the control unit. Now, I am also using a MIDI keyboard in my setup, but my computer only has one MIDI in and one MIDI out... Will I have to use the MIDI merger in order to use the Midibox LC and my keyboard at once or is there an easier way? My keyboard does not have MIDI thru but I have the LTC module which allows me to use a thru on the Midibox LC... I'm not really sure how MIDI thru works tho. ???
  11. Dont' worry, I'm not annoyed. YGPM does indeed mean "You got Private Message", like YGM = "You got Mail".
  12. pay_c: Thanx for the links... I'll check out the MP3's goyousalukis: I see what you mean about the modular thing now - seems like a good way to do things. I've contacted d2k about those bits... It looks like these bits became avalible at just the right time!
  13. About to startgetting the bits for a Midibox LC together in the UK, but niether CPC or Farnell do Motorised faders... Where are you guys getting them from?
  14. Thanks for the reply. I'm slowly starting to absorb all this wonderful information. :) You mentioned some examples of how the sequencer would sound... I'd be interested in hearing these, but I couldn't find these examples either on www.ucapps.de or the portal (which appears to be hacked by the way). :o Don't suppose you know what section these examples are in or even have a link to the section. Finally the logic control thingy... I didn't even know these existed, but now I've seen one, I definately want one. :) I've read some reviews of the Logic Control thingy, and it also allows for the instrument parameters (such as LFO, filters, etc.) to be controlled aswell as the mixing desk. I'd be more than happy if the Midibox LC gives me all the functionality of the Logic Control thing. I'm going to have to find out of motorised faders are avalible in the UK first tho. I'm all exited now... I'm going to be having a go at the Midibox LC methinks. ;D Thanx again for the info!
  15. First of all, hi everyone... I've wanted to build a Midibox for a while now, but I have never been sure about which one to build. I've already read quite a bit of the Midibox site, and while I understand most of it, I'm kind of overwhelmed by all the different Midibox's. I already have a MIDI keyboard, but want some kind of controller to I can change things such a modulation, pitch bend, etc. I currently use a mixture Logic 5.5, Reason 2.5 and Reaktor 4 on my PC. Now, as I understand it, the Midibox 64 is a MIDI controller with up to 64 buttons, knobs or faders on it right? And the E model has some extra features... but I'm not really sure what they are. ??? Can someone fill me in on what they are. Now the Midibox SEQ... It looks a bit similar to the "matrix" sequencer in Reason, but I've never touched a hardware sequencer in my life, so I'm not sure if I want/need one or not. :) Do they have any benefits or advantages over Logic Audio, for example? Also, what does "Morph Sequencer" mean? Finally the Midibox LC. I like the sound of this, as I'm a Logic user. ;D Now, If I made one of these, it would allow Hardware control of Logics virtual mixing desk right? Would I also be able to use it to change synth parameters such as cut-off and resonance or would I have to build a Midibox64 aswell for that? Finally, I noticed the Midibox's use a modular type design? Does this mean I could build a Midibox with the features of the Midibox LC and Midibox 64 combined right?
