  1. Don't we all want one :) (how is the beta going anyway? I can hardly wait to get started on my seq v4)
  2. I think your computer has a keyboard attached too :P
  3. respect for a very original concept/design, and mad skills realizing it!
  4. Director is a specialty of mine so that's what I'd be using. But at the price they are asking for it, it'd be prohibitive for most of us peeps. Still, you can download a month working trial version for free and make an app with it. I know for a fact Apple uses it for all their UI prototypes. cheers, Jilt
  5. Do you realize that blue and especially UV leds are very bad for your eyes?
  6. I'm also very interested in this matter, retrofitting external control to existing gear to make it more useful. I'd love to learn more about digipots, but I'm still also very interested in a pure analog way, because then you have the choice of controlling something with MIDI, or with real CV (from say your modular)
  7. if you see a note off with a velocity of zero you can interpret that as a note off
  8. you mean membrane switches like in the old Sinclair Zx80 and ZX81 computers? Those probably have the worst feel of every single switch I've ever encountered.
  9. Sounds like a great idea! I'm also very interested in controlling DMX thru MIDI and integrating lightshow with sequencer.
  10. try if the noise still is there when you remove the power supply. my girlfriends' laptop is makes lots of noise with it attached. I've even noticed the lights in the studio getting brighter when she plugs in the power supply :o
  11. well the one I got looks like this: so do i fold them with the black (non sticky) parts outward like this: (notice the little wires won't bend totally flat) or with the sticky part outside like this:
  12. did yours also look like 2 seperate pads with 2 wires in the middle seperating them? are we supposed to fold them together before they work? do we fold the sticky sides together or apart? i'm a bit concerned folding it at all since the connecting wire on plastic bit doesnt bend all that nicely
  13. The problem is probably not the fader but the midi protocol. Few midi commands support 14 bit encoding, pitch bend is one.
  14. UPDATE I just found the ocx http://home.modemss.brisnet.org.au/~mlevoi/midi.html
  15. read this on how to use activex controls in director on pc: http://www.macromedia.com/support/director/how/d65/tutorial/activex/control_xtra02.html i cant find the midi activex that was liberated to GNU license a few years ago (originally marketed by mabry), it was always hard to find, but I have it on mh HD somewhere, so PM or email me and I'll send it.
  16. Hi, I'm working as well to make a custom MIDI controller for my favourite VJ software, in my case Flowmotion ( which I also made, www.robotfunk.com/flowmotion ) actually I'm hoping to make a control panel to control both Flowmotion and Ableton Live at the same time, this would be the best solution for my live audiovisual performances.
  17. are you on pc or mac? for the pc you could use the mabry midi activex which was liberated to open source a few years ago. For the mac im sure there are freeware options also www.troikatronix.com is betatesting pc version of their xtra, mac versions have been available for a long time
  18. can I have 10? or otherwise 8? bit late, if not possible no problem

  21. being the cheap dutchman that I am, I could not resist trying to get the maximum amount. The trick here is that most chips come in different types (leadfree etc) ... so if you want you can order 3 of each type. this way I got 6x 18f 3x 16f 3x bankstick
  22. I'm just wondering when deciding the measures of holes for faders and pots, etc, say for a 6mm bus pot, what size hole would I make? I'd imagine it would be wise to make it slightly larger, say 1 extra mm. Any tips?
  23. http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=faders+pots ;D
  24. Give a man a fire and he will be warm for a day. Set a man alight and he will be warm for the rest of his life. ;)
