  1. Whoooaaaa! fu**in' great! This is *exactly* what I'm seraching for. Do you have a shematic/layout for that filter-module? Or AOUT? Does it require any changes to the SID-app? Unfortunatly, these weeks I got very few time for soldering or even music... Please keep up this good work! ./chrom
  2. great sound. I love that ringmodulated sweeps.... :D is it a band 'just' with your electronic projects or have you been with commercial instruments on stage before? wanna hear more :) ./chrom
  3. Thank you for reply! let us give it a try, even if there is noise.... it sounds too awesome! can you put the board-layouts and sourcecode somewhere whitout much effort? I can offer webspace, if you like... keep it up your filth-munster box! its looking great. are there any sound-samples available? ./chrom
  4. can you recomment such an analog synth project? (or even sampler?? :o) ./chrom
  5. Hey this is exactly the same display found by reichelt.de for EUR 24.40. ordering number LCD 402A LED. Mine just arrived, will test it these days... ./chrom
  6. found something about digital pots: I came across "Captain Hastings" website http://compiler.kaustic.net/fm/ who built a AOUT-kind-of-module (digital pot) with the Analog Devices AD5204.... Post any idea about integrating this device into MIOS. Would be really great! ./chrom
  7. Hello everyone. After building the JDM i got problems too... window$ problem? serial out driver problem? volatage? But DONT FORGET the pulldown resistor NOT found on the pcb-layout!! follow the shematic on bottom of the JDM-page! 10k pulldown between VSS and RB5 for PIC18!! After soldering this, everything works as expected, even i couldnt measure the exact voltages given on the jdm-page. I use factory-new PICS - burned whithout problems! Hope this may help someone! ./chrom

  9. Yes. I think this would be a really great idea to enhance MIOS with this digital pot. Think about: Quite every analog fx, synth, sequencer circuit could be controlled via midi... ./chrom

  11. is there any list with differences between the different MOS/SID production cycles over the years? Or a shematic with the inner part of PIN 1-4 (filter)? I got another 6581 and two 8580. will try these... btw: I came across "Captain Hastings" website http://compiler.kaustic.net/fm/ who built a AOUT-kind-of-module (digital pot) with the Analog Devices AD5204.... What about driving an analog filter module .... moog style.... :D .... dont shoot, just an idea. ./chrom

  13. This question is now discussed in the "Parts Questions". http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=parts_q;action=display;num=1083671837
  14. thank you for the quick reply. witch values did you use for the Styroflex caps? the original 470pF ?? I don't think I destroyed mine by heat... (but who knows) :-/ regards. ./chrom

  16. Assembled a MBSID-module, everything is ok. But... I'm not really satisfied with the filters. I tried different caps... * the 470pF (Styroflex) - quite no filter audible... * replaced it by 1nF (Kerko) - very muffled sound, few and unstable resonance... * with the original caps of the C64 box: little better, but not a *FILTER*! Any suggestions witch capacitors are best? MOS 6581 - [0483] btw: ...I replaced the 1k resistors with 1k1 5%(couldnt find just 1k's). got anything to do with my filter problem? thanks. ./chrom

  18. Thanks. Will try on my next layout. ./chrom
  19. thanks. i love compression up to 0.5dB dynamic range. ;) I'm not really satisfied with the filters. Any suggestions witch capacitors are best? MOS 6581 - [0483] (originally out of an unopened C64(1st version), MOS-Logo overpainted with a permanent marker... ::)) (if this question isn't too silly - should it be in the parts-forum?) thanks. ./chrom
  20. Hi everyone! Assembled the first SID-module and recorded straight away... ;D http://www.psi-distortion.net/audio/SIDs_firstscreem.mp3 Just ONE track of ONE monophonic SID! (added a little stereo-delay) Drums coming from sampler. Thank you Thorsten and all other forum users... THIS REALLY ROCKS! ./chrom
  21. Thanks for the reply. But not exactly the thing i'm searching for. example: already placed and routed a DIL40 (IC) with the long-octagone-drills. Now: I want to change just a few of these shapes to smaller ones, to reroute a signal very close to them.... How can this be done? I got no idea. Thanks again ./chrom
  22. Hello there. I want to change the size/shape/drill of the pads/vias in the board layouts (download) section of ucapps.de (*.brd for eagle). But it drives me cracy! Is there a solution to alter these pads without changing them in the library? I like eagle very much, because this is IMO the best pcb-layouter found for linux. Thanks. ./chrom
  23. Thanks for the reply. Not exactly what i wanted to know. I tried to glue the buttons... Not as tight on the panel as i expected. I'll post something, if solved it for my pleasure. ./chrom
  24. A good, easy and save way is to reverse engeneer the pcb layouts published on ucapps.de. They are small and handy. Just get the eagle version (link found on the shematic downloads) and zoom close enough to get the connections of the components. Wire them with enough space to trace back errors. When everything is working, ok. If not: follow both pcb-layout-wiring and your vector-board-wiring... You got 2 sources to use in debug process. In such small circuits on vectorboards, noise is not a big problem. ./chrom
  25. Hello there. Just a simple question... I got very flat buttons mounted on a pcb. The knobs are too short to reach the front panel. Can you tell me a *simple* technique how to attach a (platic/transparent) button obove this, whitch fits exactly into panel's drill holes, and tight to the panel? Thanks.
