  1. What is WIKI? I only know "Wicki und die starken Männer" :-) - Can somebody post a link?
  2. For motorized knobs you'll also need a touch sense. I think it's easier to take "rotary motor-driven potentiometers" from Alps and implement them with the existing "MF"-Setup. Roger
:-/ Hätte da jemand bessere Konditionen in Deutschland?
  5. ... as long as you don't sell your MIDIBOX, it's no problem.
  6. Hello Peter Scenario 1 won't be possible and I think you don't really want that. Imagine this: You carefully listen back a scene of your project and want to adjust a plug-in EQ. Your mouse pointer is on the far left of your 1st monitor but your plug-in is on the right screen. You move your pointer to the right side all over the mixer strips... your fader will go cracy together with your hearing which is allready concentrating on how your going to tweak the EQ. Motorfaders aren't quiet at all :-) I'm a MBOX-Newbie as well but I think Scenario 2 shouldn't be a problem. Greets, Roger
  7. ... shur, you'll receive it next. If there is big interrest in it... is there a posibility, to post it somewhere? I don't have a personal website. Roger
  8. ... what I forgot! I'm also planning to built an analog section (5.1 Surround) in my box. So please keep us informed for ideas and layout ideas. Greets Roger
  9. I sent it to you. Since I don't know your Mail sice limit, I sent it in 3 parts. Best regards Roger
  10. I have the service manual in pdf from the HUI (including all the VCA controlled analog stuff)... if you're interrested. I think, if I hand it out to you, I don't break any copyright law, since it's for DIY use. Roger
  11. Hello Thorsten Here are some available but they're pretty expensive. http://www.tastaturen.com/ergebnis.lasso?-token=3341981763325&a=Industrie&p=Touchpad&vo=d&mr=1&sr=2 http://www.tastaturen.com/ergebnis.lasso?-token=3341981763325&a=Industrie&p=Touchpad&vo=d&mr=1&sr=0 http://www.tastaturen.com/ergebnis.lasso?-token=3341981763325&a=Industrie&p=Touchpad&vo=d&mr=1&sr=5 I'll keep an eye on cheaper ones. Greets, Roger Oooops... came a bit late :-)

  13. Since our Fairlight MFX/Fame slowly gets out of date, we had a meeting with some guys from Digidesign UK and Germany. After they introduced and explained their new ICON Controller, one of my questions was: "And where are the surround joysticks?" Their explenation was surprising me. They told that Harrison/UK (Mixer manufacturer) call it their invention and now (pretty late) have the patent on it. So Digidesign is working on a tochpad control (like laptops have) for the surround placement of the signal. Wouldn't that be possible with MBOX as well? I don't know about they'll use regular laptop siced pads or biger ones like graphic pads. Greetings, Roger
  14. Hi Steven_C Yes the MFX-Commands aren't easy to learn. But when you work daily with it, you get lightning editing speed. The big limit on MFX is, that it's not up to date anymore and you can't use a mouse in combination with the controller. In my private tiny studio I work with Sequoia 7 (I just switched recently from Nuendo).
  15. Hello Pasquale I read every day through this forum since about 3 month and at this point I want to say, that I throw a big hand to Thosten and all of you making this possible and help each other! So I'm shure that you'll find some help for your needs. On the other hand I'd like to encourage you to find your own design, exactly fitting you. I work as a professional sound engineer and have the pleasure to work with Fairlight MFX/Fame. I'm so used to it that I hate working with ProTools/HUI in our Layout-Studio (actually I just hate it cause I'm so slow on it). So my design (which isn't even on paper yet:-) will be close to the MFX-Controller. The main difference between all the controllers I have seen here and the ones you can buy, will be, that the computer keyboard will be between the faders and the Jog-/Edit-/Play-Section. Since the keyboard with its shortcuts is the main editor interface for todays DAW systems, I want it right in front of me. 16 faders on the left, Jog/Play and another 8 faders on the right. I even think about placing a programmable keypad above the Jog www.xkeys.com (I bet Thorsten would be able engineere something like that with a PIC :-). I don't want to offend you... NO, I'd to like ask you, that if you take all this work on you, why don't build the controller of your dreams, which design fits exactly your style of working with your DAW?
  16. ... you still didn't tell us where you can buy those neet encoders :-)
