Hallo, ich hoffe, die Chips sind inzwischen heil bei allen angekommen… und vielen Dank an alle, die mir nochmal was überwiesen haben!!! @ jack: Ich hab zwar keine MBSEQ, aber im Datenblatt des 3378 ist ja ein Schaltungsvorschlag, wie man den CV-Eingang auf 5 Volt bringt. Geht das nicht? Ich hab letzes WE zum Testen mal ne Platine geätzt (nach Datenblatt), konnte sie aber mangels passender Kondensatoren noch nicht testen. Werde dieses Wochenende wohl auch nicht dazu kommen, aber vielleicht (hoffentlich) noch morgen Abend. fabian

Hallo Ihr Leidenden :) die Päckchen sind erst gestern raus, ich will kurz erklären warum. Letzten freitag war ich mit den "Maxibriefen" auf der Post und hab den Mitarbeiter vorsichtshalber gefragt, ob er da noch einen Stempel draufknallt, was er bejaht hat :o. Darufhin habe ich die Luftpolsterumschläge wieder mitgenommen und noch einen zweiten Satz gekauft. Ich war dann beruflich bis gestern mittag in Italien und habe die Dinger dann abends in den zweiten Umschlag gesteckt und zur Post gebracht… Wollte gerne früher Bescheid sagen, hab's aber leider nicht geschafft. So Ihr Lieben, ich hab ja selbst nicht mehr daran geglaubt, aber tatsächlich habe ich eine Meldung vom Zoll in meinem Briefkasten vorgefunden und heute morgen (die Öffnungszeiten des Zollamtes sind nicht bes. arbeitnehmerfreundlich) unser Päckchen in Empfang genommen. An Kosten kamen jetzt noch 16 % Einfuhrumsatzsteuer hinzu (76 EUR), keine Zollgebühren. Ich werde die Chips morgen versenden und möchte Euch bitten, die Berechnung der Umsatzsteuer selbst vorzunehmen und mir zukommen zu lassen. Die Rechnung ist einfach: Gesamtbetrag (in EUR) = (Betrag Eurer Bestellung (USD) x 0,85) + (Betrag Eurer Bestellung (USD) x 0,16 x 0,82) + 1,44 (VK) + 0,75 (VK-Anteil) noch zu Überweisen = Gesamtbetrag - Überwiesener Betrag Einige haben mir ja einen Overhead mit überwiesen; wenn jetzt als Differenz nur Centbeträge übrigbleiben, braucht Ihr das nicht zu überweisen, da ist der Aufwand nicht gerechtfertigt. Ansonsten fände ich es sehr fair von Euch und würde mich freuen, denn nach dem momentanen Stand haben mich meine 2 CEM 3378 ungefähr 112,- EUR (plus Nerven) gekostet. Hi d2k, I'm sorry to say yes, orders have ended already. I payed for the chips on June 13th and so everyone's waiting for delivery right now. Need to say that i originally just wanted to order 2 chips for myself but then thought there might be people interested to join, so I started this thread. Wouldn't have paid off anyway to send the chips to Germany and then distribute them back out of the EU (you are in the US aren't you?), because we're not getting any discount. there's no discount on the last stocks… Fabian :)

You seem to be the guy who doublechecks everything in advance… :D No, it's really totally ok to ask. if you want to switch two voltages, you'll need a DPDT (Double Pole, Double Throw). In theory, a DPST would do, since you just switch two positions -> on/off. But that may be harder to get than a DPDT, so I'll recommend using that… BTW, i can't check that page cause my browser always hangs up on it… :) p-cord.

Well, the "absolute-requirement" came from my MBSID. The (prorotyped) DIN-Module would refuse working without bypassing, so I thought it was worth being mentioned here… But I have to note that that was just my own limited experience with the DIN. As I agree, CORE and SID-Module run perfectly fine without bypassing. :) fabian

Ja, die SID-App wird dann einfach überschrieben. Du musst nichts neu Programmieren, einfacher upload via Sysex Der SID muss raus und Du kannst Modulationsrad-Daten senden und verschiedene Spannungen messen. Die genaue Erklärung findest Du im Ordner vom SID-Interconnection-test…

Hi, I don't know the Smash-kits in particular, but I'll try to give some answers… I dont know about the C64 PSU since I haven't used it. But in general you'll have to connect the two modules together (beware the changes from MIOS 1.6) , the power-supply, the MIDI-in and the audio-out It's good practice to do the bypassing, but I went without, since I had no additional caps here. It's absolutely required on the DIN-Module though, if you have one. (You mean the jumper bridge? You definitely need that…) Sorry, see the answer below from SmashTV… :)

Hi, so richtig helfen kann ich Dir nicht, aber an dem kondensator liegt's nicht. Der 2200µF passt. Als erstes würde ich die Spannungen messen (siehe µcapps-Seite). Ich würde Dir empfehlen, ein LCD zu verwenden, das hilft enorm weiter bei der Fehlersuche. So kannst Du zumindest schonmal feststellen, ob dein Core-Modul funktioniert. Dann kannst Du mit dem SID-Interconnection-test die Communication zw. Core-und SID prüfen. Gruss, fabian

hi, i think 150k is to much; 50k works for me, but the specification of the core-module says 10k, so it's up to you to try it out. the shipping costs to Italy probably doesn't make it worthwhile, so if you get the 50k pot in Italy, I'd try that. :)

Well, not really. You can use the joystick as an additional controller for whatever parameter(s) you want, but you still need the Encoder for the Control-Surface (if you have one). I'm not a programmer(!!!) so it's better if you get info about the stuff yourself, but I 'll tell you what I did (it should be reproducable though, with no guarantee): This is for using two pots on the J5 of the core-module with MBSID v1.7. take the main.asm file in the MBSID 1.7 source directory and add the following code ;; initialize ain    movlw   2         ; use 2 pots    call   MIOS_AIN_NumberSet    call   MIOS_AIN_UnMuxed   ; don't service multiplexer interface    movlw   7    call   MIOS_AIN_DeadbandSet to initialize the unmultiplexed AIN on J5. It' s actually alomost there because the 6th LFO uses the AIN, so search for "#define ENABLE_AIN_LFO_WAVEFORM 1" and set it to 0, else you'll initialize the AIN twice. Then search for "USER_AIN_NotifyChange" at the end of the file and insert the code to send the pot-values to CCs whenever the pot-values change. Yes, I'd prefer LEDs anyway. There's very bright ones, like Marcel said, and another point is that they are much more effective, means they don't produce as much heat as a lamp, which can be crucial... And you said you want a colored lamp, these are even less effective than white lamps, so you could use a couple of LEDs and it'll consume less power than one lamp and won't heat up your box. To the Joystick: You can use any dual or single pot joystick, best is if the pots are 10k, but more seems to work fine with my MBSD (I have 50 k pots). I think it's not so delicate because they're connected as a voltage divider. Connect the left pin of the pot to the ground pin on J5 (Core), the right one to the +5 pin of J5 and the middle to the analog input you want (on j5, too). :)
