  1. That's not really a bad song, but now you know that Germany gave us 2 great men : Thorsten and James Last ! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX89abqpQ4Y&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX89abqpQ4Y&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX89abqpQ4Y&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> by the way : James last is the guy doing almost nothing in front of the band, i'd like to know the name of the vocoder pink guy ;D
  2. i did the upload with MIOS Studio (i thought there were no mac version...) in smart mode, and it worked. i uploaded the patchbank and it worked ! but now, as explained in this topic http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,11668.0/topicseen.html, i can't generate any sound with only one YAC (cause it's in the "optional" place) so i'm waiting for my second one ::) Thanks for your help Thorsten , and for all the work you did (and will do) with ucapps !
  3. Thanks ris8 , it's not too late but i prefer put a second YAC, i bougt one yesterday and shoud receive it next week. If i burn the new YAC, i'll try this ;)
  4. hi guys i don't understand why when i boot my MBFM, i got this screen : i saw in the FM Manual, that i should have this one : i got a bankstick (fully tested and formatted) but i can't upload patchbanks from JSynthLib : each time i try, the core reboots several times during the upload (store) then starts normally but shows the same screen, no patch. i tried to upload the file bankstick.syx (in the FM setup folder) but same result. what is wrong here ??? why the Midi Channel is set to 0 ?
  5. Mwhahahaaa ! i love this movie ! but i didn't catch the first joke :P i just hope my MBFM won't do the same sounds....
  6. really ? thanks, i'll contact him but until i get a second YAC, i'll do the stryd_one method :P thanks guys for your help.
  7. thanks strid_one ::) but i'm looking for a safer solution, i don't want to desolder and resolder it, i'm too scary with this little piece of 90's electronic ! of course if it's the only way.... i'll do it :'(
  8. Hi guys i'v build an OPL3 board, buying readymade PCB, but i have only one YAC512, and i soldered it on the PCB has shown on this image from the Thorsten tutorial : but i realized after that : "on my PCB this is the place for the second YAC, so i'll have only outputs 3 & 4 ! nevermind, i won't take more risk with the YAC, i let it there. " my two outputs #3 & #4 are working fine (with the Testtone app) Now my question : how can i set my only YAC (OPs 3 & 4) as the main YAC, so the CS will show me OPs 1 & 2 ? is it clear ? :-\
  9. i didn't use your table to find the pin (more simple to do a continuity test) but of course it helped ! thanks for your accuracy, i hope u'll see my future troubleshooting posts ;D
  10. nop, u'r right, i known it was a mistake anyway thanks for the forum :)
  11. well, as usual i solve my problem less than 1h after my post... :P just a bad resistor between IC5 & IC6, i got 1KHz on each output now topic totally solved :)
  12. well it helps, but i did a simple continuity test to find the bad pin... more simple ;) anyway thank you for ur help by the way i have a new problem with the OPL3, i should start a new topic, but i'll take advantage of your help in this one if u'r agree ;D i chekcked all my voltages: -12 +12 +5 everything seems to be ok i did all the tests : OPL3 wiring (successful) then Testtone. (i have only one YAC chip so i have only outputs 3 & 4 available) When i run Testtone i got the 1KHz from output 3 but i got a DC voltage (-9V) on output 4 ! i measured -10V at pin#8 of the last TL074 (IC6) ! do u have any idea about this prob ? is my TL074 down ? do i have any other voltage to check to localize my mistake ? thanks
  13. ok it works now !!! ;D i guess it was my connector, one D# pin was not connected... thanks for your support guys !
  14. so i made a new wiring for the lcd, paying attention very carefully to pin numbers and the result is exactly the same !! i checked with a small 2x16 testing lcd i made, the MBFM works, the display is ok i noticed i got a short on the J15 of core module between pin V0 (named VL on the lcd datasheet) and pin Vss is it normal ? thanks guys
  15. i've seen on the data sheet that i was right, the down-right pin is #2 (seen from the back, oposite to the datasheet drawing) so now... i'm resoldering all the lcd wiring.... i'll tell you what happened soon :P
