  1. oh yeah...... you people have seen the connection diagram i used (attechment) i connected the SID and Core in this way but on the Ucaaps site i can find only different scematics....... is that the right scematic does it cause my hummmmmm.......
  2. Ok thanks i will try that but how do i ground the input? it is not connected..... and what is a power conditioner? and junk power ? ok i do have an idear, it seems that the noise floor is not that high but it seemd that the sound level is just very very low ? Anyone seen this before ?
  3. Ok mabeyyou all need some extra information........ The sid was powered by 2 wallwarts but then i had a very nasty noize a loww buzz in the output, i thought it could be the psu's, i optimised to the C64 psu sceme and now it still has it, is it possible that i have a ground loop somewhere...... Mabey i can post a soundsample later.....
  4. Ok i was building a midibox sid just one with the older model chip. Now i am using this scematic, the sid is working with the sidplayer on it but there is so mutch noize on the 50 Hz its unbeliveble there is almost no sound and a lot of noize but the osc seem to work. I cant find this scematic anywhere anymore mabey it is wrong????? ??? I thought to have made all the proper ground connections ? Thanks Guys The pdf of the scematic used is attached with this message. mbhp_sid_c64_psu.pdf
  5. thanks for posting my pictures TK and thanks for the tips i will be correcting them a.s.p. ( i meen yesterday ) o yeah ofcourse you kan use the pictures.... happy to help out with my bad soldering........ Ill let you know it it works. Thanks Geert
  6. OK here we go...... ihave a problem with my SID module, i build it like i should......... i think but mabey i have a short... Ok after putting my SID together i tryed to measure the voltage, i'm using a adapter with a 17V output ( atleast thats wat it measures ), i don't get a good reading from the # 14 and # 28 from the pic..... i do get a voltage but then it is drained, it just keeps going down till 0 V....... Mabey jall have an idear about this? i really don't understand because i've checked it all and i cant find a short i think, behind the BC547 (seen from the regulator) the 2 lines act as a grond is that ok ? ok thanks guys Geert Oh yeah i got one more question, the extra parts for the right connection with my PSU c64, could i use a 470 uF 25V in stead of the 470 uF 50V described in the drawings, this is for the first option it is not further optimised because all the parts ( only the diode 1n4001 and the 470 uF 50V ) can be canibalised from the c64..... well i don't see a 50V i do see a 25 V...... Thanks Geert
  7. thanks for that illogik how stupid of me......... i got it....
  8. ok guys igot a camera and now i can take the pictures so you all can confurm that i placed the parts right......?? right.... ok i now use a 9v 200 mA adapter for my core TK will place the pictures i'm sending him after this........ About the other adapters i still dont think i understand .... but if there's a load on the adapter i current should go down........ Ok i have an other problem so ill keep it in this treat so someone new can see the varius problems i encounter and will encounter,,,,, Ok mij SID module is ready but measerments are not ok because the whole ground in powerd, not very good mabey i made an intercinnection at the BC547 so i will sent the pidtures of that PCB to TK aswell......... Oh ja if i have an unstabelised adapter suppose to be 12V 1A, my multimeter reads about 15V can i use this for powering my SIDmodule? Than i have one more question because i was thinking of using the PSU from my C64, can i measure the 9V AC comming out of the adapter? Couse i can find the 5V DC but not the 9V AC? Well thanks guys, pictures will be placed by TK, thanks by the way!!!
  9. yeah i finally got it, the stabel adapter gives me a nice 5 volt, but i still don't understand about the other adapters but oke we can contineu..... I'm getting an upload code yiha lets put my sid mudule together..... Thanks guys ill be back with more questions..... Greets Geert
  10. great than i think i can go ahead now..... right???? it still bothers me that the other adapters dont give me the right power because te systen sould regulate this..... Well lets give it a go//....... Thanks Geert
  11. Well moebius i'm a beginner at this and i don't want te sound wise ore something but i checked the scheet from the core...... and as i see it it is not possible that there must be power on pin #25 of the PIC because that pin is only connected to to the midi out and the MD pin from J11...... i really don't know if i'm seeing this right ..... can some one confurm this for me cause i don't know what i'm doing apperently....... Thanks Geert
  12. thanks illog, ichecked my other adapters, they give like 3V higher than it says onthe front , i get 15V from a 12V, and 12V form a 9V adapter....?? Oh yeah about the polatery, i probebly connected the adapter in the wrong way so the + to the - and the other way around. When i got the adapter that actualy gives 9 V the polarety was switched and it works like a charme, i'm going to finisch my DIN first then for the test with my core. TK are the voltages on #25 from the PIC also there when the PIC is not plugged in? Thanks Geert
  13. TK is the picture you placed withthe PIC installed because it comes from the mide troubleshoting quide ?????/ Thanks Geert
  14. Ok i checked the voltages on the picture you placed TK but i dont get a 5V from the #25 pin fron the pic, i dont get it i do get 5 V at pin #26 strange ?????? I'm checking it out...........
  15. ok guys i think i lokated the problem, the polarety from my other adapter ( a boss 9V 200mA) and now i get 5.07V everywhere, thats ok isn't it...???? But on the site they said you did not have to calculate the polarety? Wel i think its ok so........ thank for the tip about the folty adapter i hope it is ok like this......... ill soon be able to tell if it works like this....... Thanks Geert...... ill place a picture tomorrow.
