  1. yeah, noticed it has 16bit wide user waveform bank (with midi transfer) and the prophets 12bit samples. Tho not sure it uses the same ad1836 delta sigma codec as the multifx part. Thats not very authentic in this respect. I guess Ill wait and see Nord's offering: they already have wavetable nordlead with sampling, cant really wait to know details.
  2. -for the matter of fact, I know the andromeda has custom VLSI ICs for VCO VCF, and a lot of VCA. CV is handled by motorola coldfire feeding pcm54, a 16bit DAC. - Nice pic of evolvers. I was interested buying an evolver rack and intercept signal before multiFX(=AD conversion) but reading now that its the integrated CEM3396 type (2x vco ,vcf, vca on same substrate) Im not interested any more xD -Its official the nord lead4 does wavetable synthesis, Im interested bout interfacing.
  3. Im just tryin to guess: 1. there are open source java OSC servers , one should customize to use mainboard ports or the ones on low cost PCI(x) expansion. This would eventually secure the whole thing, cause a normal OSC server is vulnerable from outside network. 2. this OSC server can forward MIDI from any seq. app. , and its multiplatform too. 3. as well as midi , one has timestamped OSC msg-s with quite low timing uncertainity
  4. isnt the midisport series the worst midi interface with 4-5 ms jitter? :P
  5. ok lets underline, that GFX and SFX are on the same substrate
  6. AMD R600 with onboard audio ~Vista waveRT driver? :-*
  7. look what I found ( TDA7429 ) :o http://tinyurl.com/37ekmm DIP baby :-*
  8. What I want to say , is that I did my homework on this topic. Yeah, DASH machines, same gang as Neve DSP / DTC ... http://tinyurl.com/22xcfp http://tinyurl.com/yr783a ok perhaps my word of use wasnt the best. So the Q was: "I see that you were formerly employed at Studer/Revox. What inspired you to start Weiss engineering?" the rest at: http://tinyurl.com/28qmxu facts: is mentioned on the above pages but DSP-2 led to DSP-3 also known as the Libra. And I know from AES papers that later DTC are downsized DSP-2, google after Neve DTC to read some industry talk. -The point I want to make is that there is no other audio company like Neve, simply b/c their unlimited funds.
  9. Quantec IR - I tought of Impulse Response, the convolution thing. For sure it is noisy tho it is bandpass noise cause 18khz processing = 9k thruput :)) Bout sonalksis blokes: "The audio signal processing technology developed by Sonalksis is the result of extensive research by ourselves, in collaberation with academics and music industy professionals. Indeed many of our algorithms would not have been possible even 5 years ago, as they build upon research at the very forefront of digital signal processing theory." And Neve (..group of companies) made the first commercial digital console, tho not sold well, but the result , the smaller DTC has its effect on CD production, so rather let's say that, there is quite a lot percentage to it that youve heard it already! The head of Weiss engineering (top end equiptment) said, that the thing got him into engineering was in fact the DTC (one of the few "serious" devices what did the justice). And here is this decade between bitslice processing and ADSP Sharc too.
  10. big mouth studio owners of my country writing that waves has definately more graphical& marketing co-workers than actual engineers, this says all IMHO (and this is for TDM ver.) too . For compressor they had not much against Sonalksis comp (this company is run by ex-Neve engineers who wrote programs for dsp platform). Reverb: I find myself returning to Quantec IR-s, I definately rate these over the 480-s, at least inside my weakling set up these sit better :)
  11. 60mm ALPS are featured for 10.000 working cycles. The 100mm sustains lot more. " Your mileage may vary" or how they say
  12. wrong thread! go there instead- Parts Questions Post questions here about parts and supplies. btw large lcds as such are better suited for avr32: lol
  13. response ??? take care of your topic pls .
  14. I really find beatbox stuff entertaining myself , and if someone does some Kraftwerk - Numbers patterns I show quite serious respect for sure ;D ;D ;D ;D besides , these tunable bandpass filters seem useful for just about everything where no prominent overlap exist Edit: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3679737445607673641
