  1. Hi Mikee I think I have some around here. Where abouts are you?
  2. Hello all Been ages since I last posted on here, so hope everyone is well? Am revisiting an older project and want to add some way to stop Note messages going to 2 ports. The idea is to have one MIDI In, 2 MIDI Outs, 32 buttons and 32 LEDs arranged in two rows of 16 each, one for each channel. The idea being, at switch on, all channels are passed to both MIDI Outs, should a button be pressed, LED goes out and Note messages no longer passed on that channel to one of the ports, but still passed to the other. Got a couple of MIOS 8 cores spare which I would like to use up, anyone got any thoughts/input on this? Thanks and regards S
  3. Thanks, I was using example 2, but switched to example 1 and can report good progress. Thanks again. S
  4. Hello all, been playing about with the Scan Matrix examples for PIC cores, that's all working fine. Is there a way to use the DIn for some other buttons? TIA S
  5. I can confirm that the QS sounds can be loaded onto an XR385 using the above method, thanks a lot for that tip. Can you post some more details of your project? So far this version using the LPC core features GM/XG voice, MIDI file player, transpose, volume plus the features of the MIDIO128. It's great!
  6. Hi all For some reason I seem to have 200 3mm green LED's. I'd really like red ones, so just wondering if anyone wants to swap or if anyone is in need of 200 green LED's? S
  7. Have been playing with this since last night, these cards really are great. If anyone wants to join in the fun, I have three adapters available.
  8. Hello Was there ever a conclusion to adding an 8 x 8 matrix to the MB64? I looked around but never found an answer. Not really a show stopper, but trying to use some of the MIOS8 boards up. TIA S
  9. Hello all Just wondering if anyone has a spare PIC 18F4550 lying around as I need one for a project. Would be really good if they could program it too! I will supply the hex file. Thanks S
  10. Thanks, but don't think thats what I was after, there will be two lists of instrument names, one for each bank, what would be the best way to display the correct instrument name rather than just the bank name? Thanks again S
  11. Hello all Been playing about with the NG project today, its great! I'm driving a synth board which has two banks of sounds, first is General MIDI, so have set up an encoder to generate program change messages and display them on the LCD. All is fine. Set up a toggle button and LED to switch to the other bank on (CC0=127), what is the best way to check the value of CC0 and display the correct voice? Was thinking of something like an IFTHEN ELSE function but perhaps there is another way? Thanks S
  12. Thanks for the reply but really wanted my second LPC core to look neat so eventually found them at Spratronics, http://spiratronics.com/ Good range of stuff and good postage rates. Regards S
  13. MIDI 3 & 4 were enabled but found they work best when I use the correct output!
  14. Am also getting no output from OUT 3 and 4. From the AINS menu, OUT4 isn't shown.
  15. Getting slightly different results here. Bootloader update and application loaded fine. Restart everything, Core not recognised until a few presses of < or > then all seems OK. Mounting the card works, but unmounting causing the Core to be lost from MIOS Studio. Restart MIOS Studio, core can be seen without unplugging the USB or pressing < or >. Instead of pressing the <> buttons, might it be better to use the encoder to select a MIDI file? I'm using WIn 7 for this, not tried on XP.
  16. Ditto, all my LPC stuff has been in bits whilst it was moved to a new enclosure, I then got the man flu and am currently in bed wishing I could stop coughing for long enough to put it back together. Have loaded the application so it won't take long when I do recover. Does this application output to MIDI Out 3 & 4?
  17. As I understand it, MIDIO128 was designed for the control of mechanical instruments, from my own experience, I ended up using just the DOuts so being able to record via Dins would take the application to a new level of completeness, perhaps it’s at 14 now! Adding lyrics, tempo and key change would match any other application/product currently available so why not? That said, I too am beginning to think that the file player could well be a solo application, what about MIDIBox Karaoke? File player as above, but with the ability to turn off/on individual channels to MIDI Out ports by pressing a switch with corresponding LED. For what I’m planning, Outs 3 & 4 would be perfect :-) Core, LCD, SD Card, SCS, 2 DOuts x 4 and 2 Dins x 4?
  18. Hello all Am looking for a UK supplier of the resistor networks for the LPC17 core? Tried the the usual suspects, but no joy, alternatively anyone got any spares? (Yes I know I can use regular resistors, just asking.) Thanks
  19. Having added MIDI playback to a large roll playing pipe organ a few years ago using older versions of MIDIO128, V3 is so nearly perfect, but recording via the DIns would be a most useful plus for roll playing mechnaical instruments. Some people have built roll scanners and there is debate as to the value of the scans and subsequent re-cuts produced. Playing a roll back on its intended instrument and being able to "capture" the performance as a MIDI file would simplify the archiving process. Re multiple outs, isn't 4 enough? :D
  20. The pipeorganphil player and the SDMIDIcontroller are the same. Think it only plays one type of MIDI file, which may or may not be a problem for you. Without a doubt MIDIBox will be more flexible and (obviously) better. Think I saw a method to program the chip for the pipeorganphil and SD using just Arduino and breadbord, but don't have it to hand at the moment. Sure you can Google it. Pete, I recognise your name from MMD posts, is absolutely correct, just fit the SD card, SCS and LCD. No need for any DIns or DOut boards. I'd vote for the Lyrics output option especially karaoke style, it would be great.
  21. OK, that's progress, these things are fussy with respect to the power supply, what are you using? There must be a seperate analogue and digital ground and they must only meet at one place, this is why I suggested using the GM Voice PSU as it is tried and tested. Have heard that the circuit won't work withour the Reset button/circuit, is this on yours? If bits were missing off the board it might be that. The first card I got was damnaged and the seller replaced it no problem. Stick at it, these things have great sound and one way or another we'll get you working. Regards S
  22. Get an LED to check the MIDI out. It should flash, have a look at the MIDI troubleshooting guide. Regards S
  23. Are you sure MIDI is being sent out from core Port? Check this first. The unused inputs of the 74LS00, are they tied to ground? Regards S
