  1. Hi Jim, Yes that was my bad, I got onto the wrong forum. :o But to be fair I always use the search function first, I never just jump in without searching high and low as I to see too many folk with simple questions on various forums that can be answered using the search. To quote myself in my second post :-"relating to that piston search" Arnak
  2. Hi, Well that was very helpful, thanks very much >:( I did say in my first post that I had already tried to search, for over an hour and read every thread and every page relating to that piston search but I couldn't find where it was :( So perhaps some one else could point me in the right direction please? I will be searching yet again! Arnak
  3. Hi Folks, I heard mentioned that there is an on going thread dealing with the problems of setting combination pistons, tabs and Led's when using a midibox? Can someone point me to the thread please as I have spend a lot of time looking but can't seem to find it. ??? Arnak
  4. Hi Bill, Yes, good point,I'll be careful. The large supply is for the further code modules (3) and DIN and DOUT boards that will need to be driven, about 18 in all!! Arnak
  5. Hi Stryd_one, Thanks for that, I'll check out ucapps again, it's probably a bad joint on the core board. Arnak
  6. Hi, Could someone advise me on the voltage range to be expected unde load on the core module please? I have checked some of the core module test points and get 3.41v under operating conditions. I do have 5v at the DIN module connections. Is this within an acceptable range? Perhaps I should mention I am using a 1500ma supply at 9v. Arnak
  7. Hi, Thanks for the info. :) I wasn't sure where to post the question but as I am making a midi organ I thought this might be the best place. ??? Arnak
  8. Hi, Can someone tell me whether I should use a log or a lin pot when using an LCD to vary the display brightness? Thanks, Arnak
  9. Hi, This is to control the stop tabs on an organ. Using the core module and the DIN module. I was informed that the module sent out a 5 volt signal so that when that 5v was switched to ground by for example pressing the stop tab down or by a reed switch on the pedal board then the key or stop tab was switched on. To use that signal to detect the operation of a stop tab I am attempting to construct a touch sensitive stop tab which when it is touched the output from the touch circuit will supply a voltage into the base of a transistor which will turn it on. This will in turn allow the 5v from the DIN board to pass to ground and so turn on that particular stop tab. In order to select the correct transistor I need to know the current that will be passed on that 5volt line when switched to ground. Hope that makes things a bit clearer. Martin
  10. Hi, Absolutely correct. 8-)) I have just posted a reply hopefully making it a bit clearer. Thanks, Martin
  11. Hi, Can anyone tell me what the current is when using the Midin board to scan for stop tabs on / off. I believe that there is a 5volt supply is switched to ground when a tab is turned on? If that is correct what is the amount of current that flows? I need this info in able to select a transistor to use as the switch. Thanks, Martin
  12. Hi Tilted, Thanks I'll take look. Arnak
  13. Hi, Thanks for the welcome. Great, thanks for that, the thread looks interesting. The only problem I can see is that the thread mentioned that no one had really had a lot of success with the inbuilt touch switches, so it appears to be an area open fore experimentation? Arnak
  14. Hi, I'm getting a little confused, (not unusual).8-)) I read that you could use a couple of contacts, such as drawing pins to form a touch switch on an organ stop tab using the Mido module. Is this correct and how are the modules wired together? I guess that one touch would turn the tab and an LED on and another touch would turn them off? Is there a wiring diagram I can see to confirm this please? Thanks, Arnak
