Hello?

Testing the voltage of all OPL3 module parts, the only that don´t give me 5v its the YMF262 leg 1. The same in my other OPL3 module. Something is wrong? It´s normal? Thanks!

One year later, i´m returnig to finish my MBFM. Past year i built 3 cores and 2 OP3 modules, but allways was the same problem, lot of noise, only running 2 outputs and hanging sounds (i only eared the rhodes one). Then the only module that was common to all the possibles connectios between the modules was the PSU. Then i have decide to change it. It was a nice "25 Watt Single and Multiple Output" PSU, but im sure that anything was wrong in it, because all my voltage testings were allways right, but at the end... something don´t run. Should this work?? I have not tried with a different core module, I´m waiting a new one to . I have tried various TL074´s too and allways is the same. One new thing that happens yesterday was that when i put my fingers on the voltage input on the OPL3 module, then the outs 1 and 2 started to run better, but now when I play something with the virtual keyboard of MIOS studio the midi notes make lot of strange noises and keep sustaining. Maybe a change of PSU can help? The core module seems to understand pretty well with my computer via MIOS studio, is this independent to the sending data to the OPL3? Really thank you, stryd_one

Have just finished my second OPL3 module (mi first one was a failure :( ) and having tested all the voltages and the connections, when I load the test-tone, only runs the outs 3 and 4, but the 1 and 2, after some weaking noises and sometimes giving the tone, have died. I have tested all the PCB soldering and it seems that all is ok. By the other side, using out 3 and 4, when I load the FM MIOS utility in the PIC, it sounds the Rhodes pretty well, without any back noises, but if I try to change the program to another instrument, it doesn´t rules. In my first OPL3 module, when it ran, was the same. Some help?? Thanks!

Yep, the wrong resistors numbers made me to desolder lot of then when I looked it. The correct resistances distribution is on the Eagle file (.brd): http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_opl3_v1.brd or in the gif: http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_opl3_v1.gif But not in the PDF. These are not good. Regards

:D Enhorabuena compañero! Gran trabajo! Yo ya tengo montados los modulos Core y OPL3, pero me da que el chip de Yamaha no esta bien, al igual que uno de los 2 YAC512. Ya estoy en espera de unos nuevos, asi que espero que todo vaya bien. Mi enhorabuena otra vez!!! Saludos

I´m building another OPL3 core. I have found 10 uF/50V and 10 uF/25V versions but not the 10 uF/35V neccesary. Some of this first 2 options can replace the last one? Thanks a lot

I have just finished the 2 modules (Core and OPL3). I have a well regulated 5v +/-12v PSU, and I connect the 5v output to the J1 of the Core but the 7805 give me 1´48v in all testings. Then I have put off the 7805 and have conected the 5v power to the J2. Then, all is ok with the voltages. But then how can I link this 5v power to the OPL3 module if i am using the J2 of the Core? Can I put a simple bridge from the J2 of the Core (remember that i´m using like POWER IN) to the J1 of the OPL3? Thanks!

Vaya!, entonces si que vas adelantado! Yo aún estoy esperando el pedido de componentes. Probablemente te haga algunas preguntas sobre los alimentadores, q aún tengo algunas dudas. Lo que aún no tengo es el YMF262 y los YAC512. Estoy apuntado en un Bulk Order de este foro. Si no lo consigo así, espero encontrarlos de otra forma, ya que ninguna de mis viejas Sound Blaster (y eso que tengo la PRO, pero la 1.0) los tienen.... Bueno ya me irás enseñanado como va quedando. Yeah, the price is really not good. I´ll try another options. Your link is so good then, but then I need another 5v power suply for the CORE then. But how can i put the 2 PSU in one out for the main wall 240v? Thanks!

Pues eso, que he hecho mis primeros pedidos y estaba interesado en intercambiar experiencias, más que nada porque yo soy bastante novato en el tema, y aun tengo muchas dudas. Saludos!!
