  1. Two sets. Both have faults, so both cheap. Set #1 - Perfect, except for 5 holes not cut. This would be a pretty easy job to resolve - print out the panel on paper, overlay it, centermark the five holes, and drill them. With care, would result in a perfect panel, with not a whole load of effort. Photos - Set #2 - Call it a Halloween set? Gouged by the cutter. Is what it is. Good to be used, without any manipulation (ie you dont need to drill this one - its all spot on, except for the 'wound') Rear panel is not in the photo, but its included, and is fine (only the top got damaged) Photo - (i know there's only one photo, but the others were all wrong - ill try again if youre keen) Price - GBP 65 per set (ex delivery / fees) Both sets are the same cost, so its 100% up to you if you would like to drill the first set, and go that way, or would like to just have a panel that fits 'out of the box'
  2. Just a brief note - 1) I have cut some more panels for this build, and added them to the shop. Panels are cut identical to Rowan's above, just in matt black / gloss black. 2) Ive not been on this group that much recently, but i am about. If you need me, drop me a mail. http://thebeast.co.uk/?product_cat=midibox Thank you, Julian
  3. I think the blue looks superb, but its not a big seller, so its unlikely that ill re-order the stock for a while. 1 set left. Not yet in the 'shop'. Same price as normal - GBP 80. Thank you, Julian
  4. I dont know if this - ...is still accurate. Ive just mailed Smash on it. Thank you, Julian
  5. I am happy to do this, outside of my concerns that i have spoken to you about. It would hopefully also reduce costs for those who would like both a case and a panel set (only one set of shipping costs required).
  6. That would be be nice. Im not 100% sure though.... I too was a disaster victim, and lost. Whilst it seems like a nice idea, i also feel that, if i were to do that, Marco would not have just 'cost' me once, but would carry on costing me? I dont know though - it would be nice to adjust slightly for Marco's dishonesty, but i dont want to feel bitter about Marco for ever. I try to undercut everyone else as it is, so there are limits... I will think about it.
  7. I have been thinking about offering a reduction to the current group buy (only). I think that, now people have confidence in Kristal's group buys, there would be no fear in ordering the panels at the same time (or there abouts) as the cases. So i am thinking something like this - Anyone who is ordering from the current group buy may order a panel set at a reduced rate of GBP 100 for the set (plus shipping / pp charges at cost) with payments taken up until the point where Kristal receives the cases from Heidenreich. Although it is no quicker in machine time to make multiple panels, it is easier for me, logistically, to make them in groups, rather than bit by bit, so, the reduction in cost is intended to encourage ordering in groups. Anyone outside of the current group buy (as listed on the wiki) would be excluded from the offer - again encouragement to order as a group (sorry!). Does that sound like a reasonable plan?
  8. Yep, white leds, black buttons, and a red / black pled screen. Not so sure about the white data wheel, but, hey! : ) I keep meaning to build one, but i never get around to it : (
  9. I have just taken photographs of this panel. I feel fairly sure that it is the colour that i will be using for my own build. As a child of the 80s, i guess i like the red & black combination ; ) note: the colour in the first photo is more accurate - in reality the red is not as pink as the second photo
  10. Completed unit looks nice! I looked to see if the whole panel could be offset down a little, but the mount issue is on both rails, so there is no option. If the screw was glued to the panel, and then a nut glued to the thread of the screw in the right position, then it would fit without grinding the rails, but then you are back to the weakness of glue. As above it is simple enough to grind a small section of the rail. That section is not really used anyhow (it was to hold the captive 'nuts). Thank you for the photos. It is always nice to have further confirmation that all is correct.
  11. I must finish an outstanding job first, and then i will do some matt black...
  12. A quick, not especially good (camera has no more batteries for a second go!) photo of the gloss black - Now in 'shop' - http://thebeast.co.uk/?product=midibox-mbseq-v4-desktop-enclosure-panel-set-gloss-black
  13. Ive been quiet for a while (summer has been getting in the way!) but all but one mbseq panel order are shipped, and ill have some gloss black (silver writing) panels for the group buy in my 'shop' before the weekend is out. Next will be matt red (white writing), and then, i guess, ill make some more matt black? The gloss black / silver writing is the same metal as i used to use on my desktop x0xb0x builds - The 5u panel is matt black / white infill, the desktop is gloss black / silver. Again, sorry for slow replies to those who have mailed me recently. julian
  14. Ive just found another graded mb6582 panel here, and put it up for sale - http://thebeast.co.uk/?product_cat=otherpanels Price - GBP 65 (normal price GBP 85)
  15. re: panels - for my own personal build, for which i could cut the panels however i wanted, where machine time, or metal cost would be largely irrelevant, i will use the design above, as i think it is a stronger, neater panel than the original design. to re-iterate, i can cut my own panel however i choose, and i will cut it to this design (unless the hardware changes by the time i get around to it!)
  16. I discussed it in detail here - (It is the y that is the hard one on these enclosures) The x can be copied from the rear part without concern, but, from memory it was about 0.5mm larger than datahseet. (i can confirm this later)
  17. This is the case - http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_seq/mbseq_case_measures.pdf Do not 100% trust the datasheet (ever?) when looking at measurements though.
  18. And now for some photos - And for kristal, just to show that the panel really does not come off the case, a shot of it hanging off my claw - I only have one panel set finished right now (the one in the photos above) and i have it listed in my shop - http://thebeast.co.uk/?post_type=product (again, thank you xtrmnt) The back panel is not that clear in the photos above, but it matches the screen grab i posted previously. Ie it has the OSC port, the power switch has been changed to a common SCI part, and an additional DIN port added. Im out all day tomorrow, but i will add three more units on Wednesday. The shop will update as / when any units sell.
  19. : ) (chris helped me with some woocommerce stuff, so i sent him a set of panels for the case previously)
  20. In answer to you both - the attachment was simply to look at the hole positions, not how anything was to be cut at all. Its a very old photo of a panel cut years ago. All i was wanting to draw attention to were the two redundant holes. You have given me the information i was looking for though - thank you! : )
  21. Can i have confirmation on one thing - The red holes, in this image (click to make it bigger!) - Should i *not* cut these for the panels? And to be 100% clear - the photo above is the REAR of the panel, not the side you see. (ie a mirror image of the top side) Im sorry if this is obvious, but i just need to be 100% certain before the next stage of cutting! : )
  22. Just a quick post - I have been working on some panels for these cases. I should have a couple of sets complete by tomorrow evening (30th july) with more to follow.
  23. Ive just uploaded a few parts to my 'shop' and made some minor reductions on a couple of midibox panels that have been here for some time. direct link is here - http://thebeast.co.uk/?post_type=product Midibox stuff is under 'other panels' Thank you, Julian
