  1. Thanx man! Yeah i love this powercord! Im going to order more at payday, cuz theyre running out, and they tell me that this cord will never be in stock again. :( Is there any company that somone here knows about, that have more choices in dressed powercords? Cuz other patterns, and collours would be sweet on my upcomming projects. Oh yeah, im just curious. How many current does a fully fitted MB64 draw with these new version PCB's?
  2. Hahahaha thanx man. ;D /titled/: man i never even thought about that, but thats a grat idea' man. I'll look into it, right now im soldering all the PCB interconnections, alot of wiring left to do. A lamp..not bad at all...im thinking....mabye i sould get a flexi pipe for the lamp ...gold coloured would be nice an old school. hmm...how would i design such a lamp...i need it to be small... ..guess i'll have to sit down and design something.......yeah...the interconnections will have to wait. Thanx!!! :D
  3. Hahahaha ;D Rubbing in my face huh? Well i need it. Thanx guys! Man i started planning this box 7 months ago...and finally it's near completion. I LOVE midiboxing!!! 8)
  4. Well as i stated in this post in this thread, i designed like this: If i hook 9 volts into the core then the regulator should be able to handle it, or am i wrong.. The core is fully stuffed with rectifier, regulator, caps etc. Got the pcb kits from SmashTV. :) It's nice to get a breake once in a while.
  5. OMG.....OMFG.... Assumption really is the true mother of ALL f*ckups... I read through this page: http://www.midibox.org/users/tor_arne/midibox64_walkthrough/everything.html And assumed i needed a dual 7-9 volts PSU..... Can i still use the power supply iv'e built? It's soo nicely done, and it's giving me stable 9.20 VDC+ :) It's giving out 9 volts, but the 5 volt regulator on the core will take care of that right? Or will it get too hot? Im like 2 days away from having this beast fully functional..i really don't want any big setbacks..
  6. Thanx guys! :) Im not too familliar with "Stryper", and believe me, it was never my intention to make you all puke from looking at my beautyfull powercord. 8) ..only one thing concerns me.. The MB64 runs on a bipolar powersupply right? :-[ Please tell me iv'e gotten that down right.. Cuz this is what ive built anyway.
  7. Thanx man! :) Im not using that many pots ;D There's only 32 rotary pots and 25 slider pots, wich means there are 57 analog controlling elements in my DubMaster. I know i said i wasn't going to do anymore updates...but...i got the last stuff from my carpenter today... I just have to share this with you people. The wood didn't turn out as dark as i originally planned, though when looking at these magical things.. I cannot stop myself from feeling horny! There i said it... Midiboxing is better than porn dammit! Here's the last sneak peak before the BIG update, so enjoy people. [glow=red,2,300]!!!WARNING FOR MIDIBOX PORN!!![/glow]
  8. I was not planning on doing any more updates untill my DubMaster was finished, but i am so pleased with the latest stuff i did, so here i go again. jum jum JUM!!!! Look at that CABLE people!!! Power cord dressed in black with gold/yellow stripes JUUUUMMM!!!!! I am so damned happy. I was soo worried i would have to use som regular stuff that's been seen over and over again. But noooo, not this time. I needed dressed cable to get that old school feel for the PSU. Look at that thing, she's beautyfull. I could swallow her whole without cooking it first!!! At least i didn't fall asleep during the "electronics" lectures. "The ground is the last one to go, always", my teacher used to say. If one go back in time of audio equipment, you would find that they used alot of DIN connections on audio gear etc. So iv'e used just that to get that "oldschool" feel, just the way i want it. Gold plated to suit the colors of the cable. mmmmmmmmmmmm, I am soo pleased with the result!!! ;D Iv'e been sitting here just staring at the finished cables for 20 minutes. During this moment iv'e had 2 wow moments. First one when i finally recieved my pot....no..i meant the pots. 8) The second one after finishing these two cables. I could probably write an essay about these two wonders. Does that mean im damaged? :-[ More updates to come shortly. <edit>CLARIFICATION<edit> The cable you see are not one complete cable. There are actually two cables. One of them is meant to be used for primary, wall outlet - PSU. The one with the DIN head, PSU - DubMasta 9v low voltage. I repeat, this is not two ends of the same cable being seen in the photo people. I had to clarify this, i got scolded at another forum. They thought i was using a DIN head for feeding AC current to the DubMaster. I would never do that. And to others thinking about it. DONT DO THAT! It will probably kill you...no it will most likely kill you!!!
  9. Yes they are very close. And yes i am able to turn them with less difficulty then i thought. ;D My next MB64 will probably be a bit more "spacy", wich means bigger, just the way i like it. BIG and HEAVY! 8) Also the way i spaced these ones was due to the way i work. I like being able to tweak 3-4 knobs with only one finger. Might sound strange...and actually that makes stuff sound strange. :)
  10. Putting up a little "teaser" for you guys. This is always better then porn! ;) Getting closer. More updates to come...
  11. I got these of Tradera (like Ebay for Sweden). Trust me, i got them at a real nice price, wich is good cuz of the low qual. I only paid 16 U$D's for 100 of these suckers. and i think these are the same pots as these (found at Conrad): "Shitty pots" Though..they sell em att a very high price...
  12. Hello Bejamin! Did you read everything here: Ucapps? There is soo much information available, and many times stuff just keeps bluring up. Personally i miss vital information all the time. Either way, if you check through this page, you'll see how modular the Mb64 is. example 1 micro example 2 mega Knowledge is power, and as stated above..being crazy is a must! 8)
  13. SLP: Normally i don't use those tools. I was too lazy to get my real set....but i'll definetly put some tape on the grips now. Sasha: These faders are the only stuff in my controller that sucks BIG time. No smoothness what so ever. I will swap these for some high quality faders, but i don't have the money or the time before the live gig im doing. I kid you not, these faders are wobbly, tacky and sucky in the "feel". Though they do give a stable value reading when measured, so hopefully i wont get any spiking values during performance.....hopefully that is.. ;D
  14. Here is an update for those interested. :) I had to pay 100 U$D's for 25 pieces of plastic....geez.. More to follow very soon :)
  15. aaw man....i just hate doing this...geez... Imagine eating plums untill you feel like tummy is about to go postal on you, then proceede by placing your hand over the sphincter, grasping it firmly. Then wait until you start shitting yourself like a volcano. That's what it feels like everytime i do something stupid like this. It's like looking for your weener in the dark with a big pichfork. And beer has nothing to do with it :P
  16. :) Ok, so here we go again. Iv'e started wiring this beast and im looking for schematics for the CORE - AIN - AIN connections. Iv'e read the instructions on both Ucapps and SmashTV, but it's not getting through. I have a hard time understanding numbers and plain text, i need something visual.
  17. Stryd_one: The store is called "Svebry Electronics AB". Their site is located here (site in swedish): http://www.svebry.se/ I don't want to type their e-mail here in the post so im sending you a PM. :) Sasha: I think we keep missunderstanding eachother. :) Im building a desktop controller. It is not built to stand upp. It will be used in the position it is placed like on the picture. I hope im not getting less clearer about this. :)
  18. Sasha: Im not shure what you mean. :-[ The case is a regular ol' style sloaping case, and the faders wont be used horisontaly. Do you mean you prefer standing faders? Stryd_one: Iv'e got this question once before. :) I get these veroboards from a shop in a neighboring town here in Sweden. The size im using has a price tag at 4.85 U$D (converted from 29 Swedish kronas) They have these boards in three different types and three different sizes. Price depends on size only. I love these boards, cuz they are so ezy to work with. Actually alot of people over the world ask me where i get them from, and i must say im supprissed these boards aren't available everywhere.
  19. Hey guys! I know iv'e been quiet a loong time now, but iv'e had alot to do. New job and everything :) Well here are some small uppdates. I Decided to build this: And the curcuit looks like this: I visited my carpenter friend Hans today and he is building me a beautyfull Case in wood for the PSU. YES wood :-* Same oak that is used for the DubMaster frame. And it is going to be stained and clear coated just like the frame. So these two units will have a "kit" look. Also the power cords on the PSU will be "dressed" in tweed, to get that ol' style look. Im thinking beige....it will look real nice against the dark wood. :) Also iv'e recieved the last panels: As you can see i haven't stained the frame yet, im doing that today :) (it's like sex for me..) Oh yeah, heres the metal butt for it! More updates to come very very soon my friends! 8)
  20. Thanx guys! There is still alot to do. But im hoping on a hall of fame on this one hehe ;) It helps having friends with metal skills. Usually i do the woodwork myself, but i wanted it to be perfect. And im not that good. Im no carpenter. So im jelous of you Buhler. Styde_one: no...no sister...but if you into it...shes got a brother ;)
  21. Well as you probably know my next project is the MIDIbox 64. I call it the "Dub Master", and this is what it will be used for. ;) This is work in progress and there is alot of work to be done. Besides im unemployed right now so "moneys" been hard to come by. :) But with the help of some very nice people, it looks like this is going to turn out good. The first panels arrived a couple of weeks ago. My girlfriend who is a light designer/technician used AutoCAD to draw blueprints for the panels. Yes guys, it's totally amazing! My girlfriend likes to discuss elektronics with me. She even helps me with my devices. And she is a girl... :o :o :o More women into the DIY electronics buisness i say! ...back to the matter at hand.. I then sent the bp's to a friend on the Swedish Electronics Forum called "Fagge". He fed the bp's through his CNC cutter and this is the result! Like a glove! I love wood, so i visited a friend and he gave me some oak. Same sort i used for my SoundLab. I love how this type of oak look when you stain it. I wanted this case to be perfect so i went to see one of Swedens best carpenter, Hans Steckmest. And as usuall, when he does something, the result is always perfect! This man is over 70 years of age and still doing some of the finest woodwork. Im not gonna use Mahogany stain this time around. I want this case to look more brownish and darker than the SoundLab. Then i'll just apply a clear coat and the result will be awesome, im shure. Had to remove some leftover aluminum before fitting the panels. I decided to go for 25st 60mm faders. mmm wood porn!!! I still have the overhead panels to design. And it's gonna be a tight fit for the rotary pots. Luckily a guy from the Swedish Electronics Forum called Mr.Mister, helped me find the right pots. Thank you! And these small aluminium knobs are going to be mounted on those pots. Perfect size and i like the look Thanx Bebbe for the knobs!. The size of this beast is aprox Width: 62cm Depth: 29cm Hight(Back): 7cm Hight(front): 4cm Yes, it's big, just like i want it :) As you see i still have alot to do. Just though i would give an update, so you don't think im dead or anything :D Stay tuned kids!
  22. geez man :D Okay, Trekker im a Trekker! :-*
  23. Hahahaha! She must be reeeealy happy with you now! ;)
  24. Aw man! You own a real Minimoog! ..now im jelous... :(
  25. Now that is a beast!!! Very cool! 8)
