made a decent picture of the CME knob on a bourns encoder from SmashTV it's hard white plastic on the inside, and the soft part seems like rubber wrapped over it, would be nice in other colors. IMG_0008.JPG IMG_0008.JPG

thank you for that farnell suggestion for the price those knobs cost, i might as well try them if i cant find anything better on the other hand, i just found a perfect knob on my midi keyboard (CME UF8). rubber soft touch. will look out for those.

i've been looking thru all kinds of knobs for my midibox sids.. not to pleased with whats available, or it might be me :) anyway, i put some knobs i 'liked' together, see attached image. i've been looking for very soft rubber knobs aswel, but havent found any yet.

had dus ook nog niet gezien, EDIT: zopas betaald.. en aan het kijken naar die 4 C64's die in de zetel liggen :)

if you ask me we don't have any overpopulation at all just an extremely inefficient way of living everything we do is actually pretty inefficient when you really think about it. as for the topic, it's a nice thing to do. a good friend of mine is probably going to save his mothers life doing this. however.. there's so much more going on in this world.. one sometimes wonders where to start

Mijn ervaring met tact knopjes is dat je ze na een jaar mag vervangen als je geen kwaliteit koopt. Als iemand hier nog interesse in heeft, of tips (waar ik beste koop,..), post het dan hier.

die TASTER 3301D zijn in feite wel cool past zo in perfboard zonder gaatjes bijboren (ff pootjes rechten met een tang) had er beter meer gevraagd voor andere projectjes zou hetzelfde ook bestaan in een iets steviger uitvoering (met stofbescherming), zoals de alpbs skhcaa switches ook bestaan in robuustere uitvoering? EDIT: weet iemand überhaupt waar je hetzelfde soort schakelaar van ALPS kan krijgen? ik vrees dat die taster 3301D niet lang genoeg zal meegaan. EDIT2: think first, post later: ALPS skhhdua010 kost zo'n 0,3 euro (vs 0,08 voor die taster) ik wil er wel.. nog iemand? die cheapo switches vinden wel hun plaats in circuitbending projectje

thank you SmashTV for taking the time to clear this up! i read about it but in everything i read there was no mention of the costs. didn't think it would be such a big differnce. sorry if my question has offended you in any way, i totally didn't mean to do that. and thanks again for the PCB's, they are lovely :) the package got delivered in belgium by a courier service. ABX just did the customs part. if i'm not mistaking it was "EMS/Taxipost", a courier service owned by the Belgian postal service. They're a bunch of assholes too. It's a real shame how shitty our postal services are here. (as I can tell from sending parcels with insurance in the past) no reason to get rude here.

as far as i heard from people in the know, UPS is quite ok someone warned me for ABX logistics, and that was where my package was processed this time. luckily we split the costs in 3 EDIT: to SmashTV: might wanna check another shipper in the future. I did some searches and it appears that USPS uses ABX always. I read very bad things about abx. Might wanna try a shipper like FedEx or DHL or equivalent. Price will be a bit higher, but customs should be a lot faster and cheaper from what I read.

taxes in belgium should be 21% it wasn't just the boards, thats the problem.. next time i'll just order the boards. i ordered: 3 * BASE PCB 300 red leds 50 bourns encoders 12 pics 6 chips for the banksticks the customs bill looks like this: Advance fee: 0,50 euro Formalities: 25,00 euro Tax import belgium: 50,43 euro package was at customs for more than 2 weeks, got an email 2 days ago, asking about the contents of my package and if it is a commercial package. in my response i asked why the hell it took them so long, got a reply immediatly saying that it's not their fault that they're so busy lately.
