  1. Is that yours John ?. :o :o . could you post more pictures ?. damn..... gotta build one for myself.
  2. Wow, you sure your dad aint an organ builder ? ;) I see you have 6 pistons on the choir manual, are those working ? if it does, do the stops move automatically when you change the presets ?. and is the computer screen behind the music rack ?
  3. is this USB 1 (12Mbps) or USB 2 (480Mbps) ?. And what is the speed 1Mhz or 4Mhz ?. Sorry didn't find any tech spec :-[
  4. no need to build a PC for that, any old computer(even a 468 can) with an ethernet, compatible ipmidi software and a midi system will do. Wouldn't it be wonderful if an Amiga can do it ?.
  5. Hi OrganGuy, I'd go for total input modules = number of manuals + pedal board + MIDI128 (for stops, crescendo pedal, etc...) and total core modules = total input modules + 1 core modules(for troubleshooting, backup, etc... ) and a multi port MIDI interface. This might be expensive compared to a single core transmitting all these into one interface, but will be extremely useful to troubleshoot if one input module / core fails. Personally i prefer SCANROW than SACNMATRIX because it is very simple to wire and cheap.
  6. I was thinking of the same, but many DIY boards recommend using a reed switch, is there any particular reason for that ?. I find magnetic reed switches are problematic, especially midifying old manuals, can't we use a simple 2 wire contact ?.
  7. I was thinking something like a midi+audio out box, that makes firewire suitable. But haven't got a clue if its is possible. here is my idea, well not really.... ;) multiple midi IN's -> midibox -> firewire -> computer to process & audio out thru -> firewire ->midibox-> say 8 analog(mono) outputs -> amp -> speakers. well, much like a lite MOTU ;D
  8. I wonder if it this is already out there / anyone working on it ?. The reason I want a firewire interface is its speed, use it for organ midification(4 manuals + pedals and stops, at the mo Yamaha USB interface sucks, sucks even on Windows) and I use Macintosh computers.
