  1. Both me and my friend have a sammichSID and have both tried to run external sound sources through it. It all runs fine for a couple of seconds, the sound goes through the filter, then the sound disappears and you have to turn "ext in" in the filter section off and on again for it to work for another couple of seconds, then the sound disappears again. I'm sure it's not supposed to work like that?
  2. Nah, it's not touching the heatsink but I'll check my joints, where should I check except on the encoder?
  3. I finished my sammichSID the other day and everything was working fine, then yesterday when I powered it up the encoder was going bananas! It jumped between steps a lot, one encoder click would jump 2-20 values and when I tried to decrease values it increased them instead etc. I find it really strange that the encoder started to freak out without any reason? I will try to resolder the encoder today and hope for the best, is there any other place I should check? Otherwise I guess I have to change the encoder, but still, I find it strange that a encoder dies after ~5 hours use!
  4. haha, oops, looked at the wrong datasheet, but thanks a lot for pointing that out. Think I got it, but you're welcome to post instructions just in case and maybe somebody else is interested in that also? Thanks a lot for all your help!
  5. I want a white/black LCD for my sammichSID, would it be possible to use this one? 763-0220GZ-FSW-GBW http://se.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Newhaven-Display/NHD-0220GZ-FSW-GBW-L/?qs=3vk7fz9CmNy7KHdYuITHXg%3d%3d Datasheet http://www.newhavendisplay.com/specs/NHD-0220GZ-FSW-GBW-L.pdf It seems to have the same pin-out, so I guess it would be ok, or?
  6. I just started to plan my frontpanel for my sidbox and I would like to use slide pots for a envelope. Is it possible? If so how? And if it's possible, would it be possible to change function of the sliders in the same way as the OSC section, that is explained in the Complete Control Surface explanation? For instance, could I use the sliders for all envelopes and switching between them with a button? I'm terrible sorry if this have been asked before or if it's stated clear somewhere, please just point me in the right direction then.
