Thanks Nils & Wilba. I will post my issues over the next couple of days. I am a real rookie when it comes to electronics, so you will have to go easy on me :tongue: I have shelved the project for a while, but will fire it up tonight and post what my problems are.

Any MB6582 builders in Sydney? I have finished the base board but am having soime problems uploading the firmware. Need help!!! If there is anyone in Syndey that would be keen to catch up and see if they can help me with my problems, it would be greatly appreciated. 1) Did you check all the voltages? If not, remove all ICs and do that. Report back.

Hi Smithy, I have NOT installed a jumper at J11!!!! I was just reading on the forumsome issues other people have had with that. Can you steer me in the right direction with the proper procedures for uploading and installing J11. Thanks for your help.

Something is missing! Screen is blank, MIDI is hooked up correctly, MIOS studio is still saying 'No response from MIOS8 or MIOS32 core!Check MIDI IN/OUT connections!' I am using an E-MU midi 1x1, is this the problem?? I remember reading that some interfaces don't work. This is the third interface I have tried, but I think the others were on the list of bad ones! I am really stuck!!!! I am a muso, so I started this build because I wanted a MB6582, not because I was good at electronics!!! I want to get it finished cause I've spent so much time on it!!! Thanks for your replies. I'm sure there is something simple I'm doing wrong, and someone can steer me in the right direction!

Thanks JRock, I followed these instructions, but there are a couple of problems! It DOESN'T say MIOS 1.9 ready, it says 'No response from MIOS8 or MIOS32 core!' When I open the Zip file it says'ERROR: Wrong number of bytes in line 524'. I know I'm doing something stupid! HELP!!!!! :frantics: Thanks!

Hi all, I am still having problems uploading the firmware to my MB6582. I have read the instructions for newbies, but I still don't understand it! I have been building this for about a year and with the end in sight I am starting to panic!!!! I have completed the baseboard and have all the PICs and 8x Sid chips in place, I have connected the MIDI In/Out to the PC and run the MIOS Studio 2.0. The MIOS Studio screen recognises the MIDI In/Out.....Now what do I do????????? Can someone please explain to me in simple terms what I need to do. Thankyou for all your help. Sid

If you don't have uploaded the MIOS firmware to the PIC module yet, there's little to see on the LCD. Look in the MIOS bootloader MIOS8 newbie section (see http://ucapps.de/) how to upload. Kind Regards, Frank
