  1. Tim - I just came here to forward the reply you made to my Facebook post! Thanks for letting people know :-)
  2. Hmm, this is worrying! My funds also never quite aligned with the availability. Have been checking over the past few weeks to no avail, so came to check on here and found this thread. I'm definitely up for a set of boards when they next come up!
  3. That's good to hear. I'd figured he'd be perfectly upstanding having been involved in this community for so long, and didn't once consider it would be anything other than situational :-)
  4. And they're back in stock! Didn't receive a reply email at any point, don't know if that means he's snowed under or the web contact just straight up doesn't work.
  5. Ah, I had been wondering this! I emailed from the website a couple of times but received no reply. Good to hear they're on order!
  6. Hi there, I'm interested in the MB6582 PCBs as midiboxshop.org is out of stock at the moment, but I would prefer to get a non-flakey panel instead. I've had a search around but can't find the answer - what's the difference(s) between the first PCB run and the current PCB run? Also interested in one of the red LCD displays!
  7. Ok, it turns out that one doesn't look compatible (cheers for the spot!), but I've found other white-on-blue ones on eBay that are, and are also a pound cheaper :-)
  8. Yeah, it could go either way! It may also be a case of choosing how many layers to use - one might just give the text a tint and leave it bright while making the background browny/purply, and more might make the background closer to black but the text harder to read. I'll give it a try and report back anyway. Reporting back may take months though - my current project list is huge and my bank account doesn't yet want to stump up for the PCBs, panel and misc sundries, but if it comes out nicely it'll help other people out on here. Regarding compatibility, I *thought* I'd checked, but I've gone through so many different tabs and websites that they all blend into each other, and the description doesn't show HD47780 anywhere, so I guess I missed it. The dimensions match and the circuit board looks like the standard type, but I'll have a dig around to check the compatibility.
  9. So I've been looking for the right LCD for my MB6582, and settled on wanting red-on-black. Unfortunately, these seem to be fairly expensive and hard to find in the UK! Had a bit of a brainwave though, could I just get one of these white-on-blue displays, and tint it with some red acetate, or would it not look quite right? I'm wondering if the blue would appear black, or if it'd end up closer to purple - which could look quite funky in itself... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LCD-display-module-20x4-character-white-text-on-blue-background-/321385054708
  10. Ahhh, nice one. Thank you very much! I've got a couple of 6582 chips waiting so probs don't need the Nano SwinSID (unless there's any other reason they might be handy?), but cheers for the tip off anyway :)
  11. Hi there, I'm struggling to find the right power switch for building the MB6582. The closest I have been able to find so far is the 800-266 from JPR: http://www.jprelec.co.uk/store.asp/c=1040/Miniature-PCB-toggle-switches-Salecom That one looks like it'll fit, but it'd look a lot better with something more like this: (found in this thread - ) The above seems to be the DP version of this switch: http://www.salecom.com/prdshowcase.asp?Source=Products.asp&prdCatalogNo=T80-R&prdClassNo=002 Anyone know of a place I can buy one or two of these?
  12. If it comes together, I'm in for 30 knobs - two sets of Red/Black. :)
  13. Hello there, Is there many people after these knobs again? Wondering what the possibility of another group buy going ahead is :)
  14. 1440 Waldorf knobs ordered in the ALBS Waldorf Knobs Bulk Order #1 2011... 1440 minutes in a 24 period.
  15. Thanks, that's a great offer! (One Waldorf knob a minute... Nice deadline ;) ) Plan was to get it completed and wait for the knobs to finish it off, but still need to get some other bits before I'm at that stage, so will have to bide my time. Cheers anyway, was appreciated :)
