  1. Hello,  i think the seq v4 software is already capable of doing all that.  check out its remote control functions and midi implementation.

As regards hardware, you can go any way. Lots of commercial devices offer pads and sliders, just program  them to control the SEQ . If you want a quick and relatively standard solution, buy an existing controller for sure: a Kord Pad Kontrol,  a Launchpad, a Mackie, a  Presonus fader port, a stein berg cmc or cc121, a keyboard controller with some pads & sliders. So many options out there...

DIY is for the love of building and  / or if you want something extraordinary -like the unbeatable SEQ V4. It is definitely neither cheaper nor faster than ready-made hardware.  If you do want to build - NG is the way to go as Shruriken suggests.

Hello there , started a thread about the possibility to "adapt/transform" the midibox seq in some way of akai mpc sequencer "structure" ,

    song->patterns->tracks->notes and parameters

    64 midi tracks per pattern

    8 midi out

    2 midi in

    smpte sync as well

16 pads/buttons for instant or next bar or beat - track or pattern play

8 faders for hand control on midi parameters each fader with a button for on-off

are they too many things for a midibox seq engine ?

thanks in advance for any about

    kind regards

Why don't you start building a MIDIBox NG and find out for yourself? And then add the features you want.

years ago start to build a hui daw remote control with midibox "tools"

lost about more than 90 days (in hour count...)

and some hundred of money..... (headache and head overheating apart...)

a morning checking web used devices market found many daw remote controls

less than half of price because new less expensive models for sale.......

made a fast count about how many money I would have earned

devoting that time to some paid work ...

I would have in my pockets several hundreds money,

avoid all the various headaches, and a daw remote control ready to go ,

time is money .... and or "life" fun etc...

the diy can be also fun ( only if do not have nothing else to do ! )

my request is only for have a generic reply about if yes or not !

Ok, but it feels a bit like you are asking TK to code this thing for you.

DIY does not equal cheap. It's only worth it if it can bring you a unique special feature that nothing in the market can buy you. Then still it will require work on your part. In this case the answer for you would be yes, but you would have to code the changes yourself.

  3. Hi, start this thread for ask if the Midibox Seq software can be modified/enhanced/adapted , for work as the Akai mpc sequencer , with the possibility to assign : song , tracks , patterns to a number of pads (as in the mpc) for instant or next bar : play-stop , mute on-off , record on-off , etc... song and patterns "frame" loop play (on fly) , (sampler audio and efx section excluded) any opinion/post is welcome thanks
