  1. Now let's prototype it! I used Poly-800 Service Manual page 6: In the Poly and EX-800 the 2069 is in PRE configuration. It means the VCA is before the VCF. The VCF has 3 Voltage controlled inputs, SIG1, SIG2 and VCF In. Two VCO on SIG1 and SIG2 and a noise circuit is applied to the VCA In. The VCF 4 Poles output is the Output of the filter stage. The DW-8000 Service Manual page 22: The DW-8000 is in POST config. The VCA is after the VCF Two VCO come to SIG1 and SIG2. The Noise Circuit is directly applied to VCF In. The VCA Input connected to the VCF 4 poles output. The VCA Output is the output of the filter stage. The DSS-1 Service Manual page 18: The DSS-1 is in POST config too. The only difference is the 2 switching Op Amp added between the VCF Ouputs 2P/4P and the VCA In. Specifications - Digital and Analog control for all CV, both at the same time. - Configuration modes are controllable. - Power supply is +/-12V. - Can be use in a desktop synth or in a Modular system. After some schematic sketching this is the wild version. To be continued…
  2. Hello, Here, it's all about the NJM2069 and its MIDIbox Module. Here an old topic which is talking about too, I mention it too in the TIA Cartridge topic as a possible option for. First some words about the chip. Some of you already know it. It's present in some KORG products from the 80s, In Analog Hybrid Synths like the DW and EX series, DW-6000, DW-8000, and the Poly800... I've got the smallest one, the EX-800. You can find it too in Some samplers of the same brand, in the DSS-1 for example. The NJM2069 is Music Voicing System, like SSM brand used to say. Very close to the SSM2045, same functions but not the same tech. It's an OTA based LPF but it's not just a filter. It is composed of 4 VCA and 1 VCF Low Pass 4 Poles. 2 VCA are fixed on the VCF inputs named SIG1 and SIG2. 1 is used for the Resonance. The last VCA if fully independent. The VCF part has 3 Inputs: - SIG1 Signal 1 with VCA - SIG2 Signal 2 with VCA - VCF IN is a direct input to the VCF. 2 Outputs: - 2P, 2 poles Output - 4P, 4 poles Output and 5 CV Inputs - SIG1 Level - SIG2 Level - Freq Log - Freq Lin - Resonance The Independent VCA Has is own input and Output and 2 CV inputs, first is linear CV the other is labelled Log in some version and seems to be a bias on another and is finally not usable, i think. Here the function diagram and pinout. I didn't find too much documentation, no datasheet. And some written information on the internet are wrong. For example i read somewhere that the chip is not able to self oscillate! It's wrong! Mine on a bread board do it very well ;) Not too much data then i used the service manual of the Poly-800, DW-8000 and DSS-1 to prototype my board. And after some testing, analyze... Finally design a first PCB version. DDS-1 Service Manual DW-8000 Service Manual Poly-800 Service Manual ... Enough for today, i will continue later ;) ...
  3. Thank you Tim,
Ffor everything mostly for the time passed on it! You made it happens!!!
And John is the best choice thank you for that too.

    Best regards
    Bruno

      jojjelito

      Fully concur! Thanks Tim!

  4. Yes i know that's one of the reason i didn't share it, some soldering experience and a lot of flux paste is necessary, obviously some good equipment and tool too. oh yes this is great! my OLRE16 will be happy! In PM ;) Great work!
  5. I did one but never manufacture the board then never test it. It's a good way to gain space, the board is really small, but if you're not afraid about small smd components. I have to remember exactly which package I use, but same CPU, there's exactly the same port as usual, except J11 which is a 6 midi ports and USB, two tact, micro-SD on board. I can share if you want it... Best Bruno
  6. Smart! What is the total height with interconnection plugs? Best regards
  7. Did you release your TPD board files? No and this is not a problem. BUT IF you can not provide your boards any more I hope you will provide drawing. Can you see the shade? Best regards
  8. Great! One more Alive! That's right. There's 2 ASM files which produces 2 'Ready to Use' HEX files, it's 2 different compilation for 2 different CPU and Registers Pinout. - Basic firmware for MBHP Like circuit, you can find eagle schematic on wiki. #define DEFAULT_IS_CARTRIDGE 0 - Dedicated Cartridge version. #define DEFAULT_IS_CARTRIDGE 1 Yes and helpful for somebody who wants to modify firmware and adapt/testing to a different pinout. The LED METER is only present on the CARTRIDGE version and its register pinout never changed, then an interconnection tool will not help. The app firmware test the LED METER at start-up and when sounding. No led at all -> SPI signal or Register issue. One or some leds don't work -> dead or inverted led, etc... I will spend some times to do it. Now, after some of your feedback, I've got more informations, I thing MrSpring got all issue which can exist, he is a great beta tester ;) Your step list for the electronic part is great... Some mechanical building steps have to be respected too. Then I will compile everything I know and share my few building tricks. It's picture to take, lot of thing to write, before I propose a new run. Help is welcome, if you want to read, propose and/or correct it, correct my English too etc... I know, I've got too much firmware version. i will refresh and clean up my source file too. I'm always afraid to do a mistake when I white on the SVN maybe I made one... It's a known issue of this board version (v2a). This is already corrected on PCB Files and replacement/spare boards which are on the way... There's a better way to correct it... because you get the ground before supply filtering and regulation. This is what I did and recommend to do: Better to scratch silkscreen and get AGND plane directly. Yes it's fun, I like it too :) Now best is to share it and know that some people can play with it, pleasant feeling. Best regards
  9. C'est pas franchement demander le cul de la cremiere! Among all project that there is here, it's not just one of them but one of the more and maybe the most important one! A positive or a negative answer. Just an answer that "It's a good practice" ;) By providing Gerber files(after CAM Process) to only one person in charge to distribute it here only. ->Keeping for them source PCB layout file is the best proof for protection. ->It's letting this project alive... Nobody is enough stupid to commercialize exactly same pcb design. So why?.. Then TK came and answered to all my questions. But, Yes! It doesn't matter. The important is to let people building this machine. Best regards
  10. Oh that's a shame...I suppose they want nobody to make money with it... But in the same time, everything is protected from commercial use when published here, I suppose too. Then... Lisa, Julian I'm always in :) Best
  11. Hi Thorsten, Obviously, but... Who? You did yourself? Your request and concern should have surely more weight. Best regards
  12. Maybe I'm wrong but... I think that if Wilba and Smash Tv can not or no longer want to produce and distribute the PCB, it would be wise and kind to leave the design to the community ... Simply :) Did someone ask them? Best regards
  13. Hard Coooore! Great! Personally, I would prefer it in Mono ;) At a lower tempo, this is best industrial mnml tech album I ever heard in my life: https://www.discogs.com/Endorphine-Ref01/release/1320030
  14. Gerald, Midi Leds cannot work until you load the app. But you may have some message from bootloader on query in MIOS STUDIO. Did you put the jumper on reset ??? The PIC cannot start without. Here:
  15. Same thing for my mother, she was so bored about! She knows what we do with it now and she still doesn't understand :)
  16. No, I just sent last PCB this morning, but i will get some other by the end of summer... I will remember you want it. It always remains some TIA. Best
  17. Hi, it remains some PCB, TIA, maybe 1 backplane somewhere. For the enclosure it's an Atari cartridge and no more Breakout cable. Tell me... Thank you Best
  18. Yes I don't know why i saw a smd chip, it's just a DIP socket. I'm a bit late, sorry. I will try to ship the remainning kit before the end of the week but don't blame me if it's not the case, please :) It's a lot of work and I already have a full time job ;) Some pictures of breakout cables and board preparation, you will see that it's pretty finished: Ohhh! scrubber and mrspring I need your Label to print it!
