  1. Ok this might be a silly question but what are the best and most up to date sid players for midibox sid for Windows using midi output? I'm having a hard time finding a good one.
  2. What is the difference between v2 and v3?
  3. Did anyone ever post a link to download a hacked VICE for Linux to use MIDIBOX SID? I would definitely like to use this.
  4. I've been doing exactly what you're talking about with Renoise and the multi engine the midibox sid. You can make an instrument per voice and then assign them to channels, and the send each track in renoise to a different midi channel.
  5. I've created a simple instrument definition for the Renoise Guru plugin. You can use the program/midi keyboard and edit patches at the same time. I don't know how to do the fancy stuff yet, and load/save patches doesn't work yet. Please post any suggestions or enhancements, I'd love to make it better or modify the code yourself. Have fun! 6. Well, at long last I have it working. I had to delete the data in c:\users\username\appdata\ctrlr so I could start ctrlr, pick midi devices, open panel, pick midi devices in panel and away I went. Still, I don't know how to get my midi keyboard to send note messages as well as my interface to the sammichSID. I tried using a midiloopback device so I could merge midi outputs in EnergyXT but it didn't seem to work with the loopback device, even though the output was going to the same output it went to before. Oh well. I hope the new version of Ctrlr allows you to send a midi input to the VST so you can send some notes.
  7. Ok, so I downloaded the latest version of Ctrlr to see if it would help and, yes, I was able to use it! However, it looks like the panel doesn't work with the latest version. So, I tried to go back to the earlier one and broken again. I believe that I followed the wrong order when I initially set it up, as my midi interface does not load as default. I think if I could just "set it up right" one time, 945 would work. However, I've uninstalled it, deleted the directory and vst's and reinstalled it, and still... the old configuration auto loads. Does anyone know where to delete the old config so I can "start fresh"? thanks

  9. Hello, I'm having some trouble getting it to work. I have a Lexicon Lambda interface and am using EnergyXT and also Renoise as hosts. I can select the Lexicon as the midi input and output device, but when I hit receive, I don't get the current patch. Likewise, I make changes and hit send and nothing happens. I'm using the versions of Ctrlr and the panel as shown in the first post. Also, same story with standalone. Any ideas? Thanks.
  10. I have a really hard time soldering these pins. Any suggestions?
  11. Is it possible to play the notes in the editor somehow with a keyboard or something else while you are programming sounds (other than the "test" tone)? I am running Linux and was thinking if I somehow wrapped the program with "a2j" and could map my midi input to the midibox at the same time as the java program... but I was thinking this would mess up the transfer of data... any ideas? thanks.
  12. Well... I got the display today, then tried to unsolder the pins from my old LCD and found it... impossible! After cutting the thing into pieces, my pins were practically destroyed. Does anyone have a part # where I could order a new pin bridge? thanks
  13. I have been experiencing a green bar on my LCD (I am moving this out of another topic for relevancy). It started after months of normal use. I have checked and rechecked the solder joints and pins leading to the LCD on my sammichSID but to no avail. My sammichSID otherwise works fine, the startup LED's flash, I have sound when I play through it, but... green bar of death. I've tried adjusting the contrast knobs and they make the bar brighter and softer. Is this the best replacement? http://www.sureelectronics.net/goods.php?id=1033 thank you
