What was that I said about mitigation... :console:
  2. Of course, I built one didn't I  Didn't do any good though did it, I still managed to get the resistor SIP's backwards
  3. Tut Tut Wilba, what with the promises it'll be ready before the kits arrived. ;) Guess you underestimated the efficacy of your Antipodean postal services! For what it's worth, you can take your time, i'm in no rush given that I didn't expect it so soon anyway!
  4. Hehe, luckily I kept it. I do a little casting in silicon, and I was planning to cast a clear window using that as an original. Perhaps it would have been helpful to note it in the documentation to mitigate against the fact that most of us are complete idiots ;)
  5. I was just re-reading this thread, and this is the first time i've noticed this. I assumed the piece included in my kit just was opague waste from when the kit was cut. I never took the protective cover off
  6. But MBSID V3 will also provide a shiny new (still DIY friendly) CS for improved usage - just two words: Hires-OLED and mulicolour! Does this mean the new CS will have a graphical interface? How excited am I!
  7. My kit arrived this morning as well. 6 Days to literally travel to the other side of the world. Impressive work, and a very impressive kit. Can't wait to get into it!
  8. Wow, how much do I want that to be implemented already! I'd love to rip the patches from Arkanoid!
  9. Sounds like a similar problem that I had. You should check that the inline resistor networks are soldered in the correct orientation, and that the 74HC165's are in the right way around. Get yourself over to the sammichSID wiki page and download the test app, that will give you some clues as to what's going on.
  10. This thing is awesome! I wonder how long till we get an AYSammich ;)
  11. I wonder if anybody else is having similar problems navigating the SID menus? I finished my Sammich the other day, which worked straight off and sounds fantastic. I installed the Java patch editor and uploaded the V2 vintage patches to bank 1, and some other user patches to bank B and TK's bassline patches/seq's to bank C. Now, when I turn on the SID, I can scroll through bank A using the encoder, and I can access certain parameters for editing, however if I use the menu button to go back, I keep ending up at the init patch. Likewise, if I try to change banks, from the initial menu, I push the left select button, then click SID which brings up SID BNK PAT etc. If I click BNK, I would expect to be able to switch between the banks, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to let me select different patches. I have read the manual, and from looking at the Ensembles page, it looks like i'm doing it right? Does anybody have any ideas? EDIT: Turns out I had some of the resistor networks in backwards, hence it was not behaving as it should.
  12. Brilliant! That's all I needed to know, didn't mean to be a pain in the ass. :frantics:
  13. Wilba, did you get my message about putting me on the waiting list for a Sammich? I iz starving!
