9 years after buying my M-audio midi keyboard, I read the manual :D, and discovered that I could transpose the notes directly on that controller. Man, would've saved me a lot of mouse clicks @ gigs if I knew before. Lesson: 1: Read manual. 2: Read manual again. 3: Read manual and make sure you have understood the manual. 4: Have fun.

Finally W7 on the studio PC. finally possible after I got rid of the mbox1 ghost. Means more ram, SSD running. Formating the e PC gives the same feelining as cleaning your room :D

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that one a try. I used to be all into viritual stuff, but midibox opened my eyes :D. It's something about spending time in this enviorment - it gets to you :P
-
yes, me prefers hardware, too, but when it is unaffordable (ob-x) and an emulation is that good, listen without watching and try to tell which is the vst and which is the original :)
-
Hehe, I haven't got enough experience with oberheim to tell the difference in a blind test. But critic listening: There are minor differences that I hear - sometimes - but not in any way does the vsti sound bad. Worst case, only a little bit different, but that is a completely other thing than bad sounding.

MOTU 8pre arrived, unboxing pics tomorrow :D
-
Interfacing like a baws!
-
:) Finally I got it in my hands, been going back and forth about buying an interface, and back and forth on buying this one for a long time. So it's a extremely well thought through purchase. Still it hurts. It's fun saving money, not so fun spending them all. Need to save more now - like the feeling of some bucks in the pillow :P
-
You´ll love it, good choice for sure :)

Yeah! The Rage 4.7 is out of the bag for the first time in over a year. New 25m line kit ordered. Now we're talking business!

Dude, u have a bike, as in MC? My bro just bought a 900 cbr - think it's from the very late 90s. A really nice bike.
-
I wish I had a nice motorbike, but for now it's a MTB and a Kustom Kruiser.
-
Oh cool! those cruisers are cool looking. Candyred one with flames? :D. Man, I hope I get good wind conditions this week, it's aching in my hands to take the kite for a testflight! And not least - take me for a testflight hehe.
-
time to order my new interface. motu 8pre. It's Goood.

I just ordered the 8pre. Pretty excited to see what it can do for me. I gave about nok 5100 incl. shipping ;) Pretty much the same price I would pay in a foreign webshop incl. taxes, vat and shipping. So I'm pleased.
-
Nice price!
-
I have also been looking at RME, but @ this time it's too expensive for what I need. I suspect I will be all set for a while with the 8PRE ;)

After reading nils' link to nikolai tesla comic on fb today I know I am a geek myself. Yesterday missus went all "fred-come-to-bed" on me, and I told her - nah.. this pcb needs to be soldered first :P

Why is babies born with an asshole? To annoy the daddy by shitting in it right after receiving a new diaper apparently... It better just be a fart! :D

Anyone up for another bulk order for Waldorf knobs? If there is interest, and the price isn't doubled since the 2011 bulk order, I can guarantee I'm in for at least 100 knobs.

-
Hmm. I had forgotten about that... It's some months ago now though. People, let me know if there's interest, and apprx. how many you could be in for.
-
sry, me iz out again, for the fs1r controller later on i need very slim knobs, thinking reichelt 10mm ones.
-
Cool. I have learnt that a bulk order takes time to mature in midibox community hehe. So that's why I took the initiative - I am not in hurry - have knobs enough for a few projects :)
-
Time to mix some yellow etchant goo.

Nice.. I've been thinking I need the same thing! I don't have enough motivation to exercise on my own.
-
great progress :)
-
thanks :) My motivation is really skyhigh, but it's easy in weak moments to again start fooling myself, so that's why I chose to organize it that way. :).
-
is searching for his old volume pedal. It's gonna have surgery wether it wants to or not :D

I predict a mb6582 on my table in 2026 :P
-
Hmm, the good things take time.
LPC1769, 82c54 timers, AINSER, pots, encoders, LEDs. And moar.
-
Will definetly find some time this evening to nail the enclosure design for the mb6582 :)

I have now made a picture of the second revision of the vcf board available at the gallery. This has some minor layout changes and also a "cleaned up" silkscreen. I'm having serious trouble fitting it all in there, so if anyone would like to have a go at it, I'll send em the eagle files ;).
-
I'm super interested in these. Will definitely take 4 boards when you've got them. Can pre-pay if it helps w/ development costs, etc. Will stuff proto boards and test, too, if you want.
Thanks!
-
Any new news on the filter boards? My ssm's are taunting me :)
-
is browsing ucapps for idea on what to build next, that is after my two synths are finished. Maybe a mbseq... Don't know yet.

for your controller, methinks you could well start off with a MIDIO128 V3 and upgrade to MIDIbox NG when its ready - btw the SEQ also integrates fine into a DAW environment, not trying to convince you or something ;-)
-
Hehe hawk, no convincing needed. I definetly want to build a seq, but that will probably come next after that again, or at the same time hehe :).
-
I have been playing around a bit now today with my piano (I have a digital piano in my studio) and I love good old piano with analog pads on the synth. I found out that I need a midi expression pedal to adjust cutoff on the filter. So that is definetly gonna be part of the next controller.

I traded in empty soda bottles at the supermarket today. Here we get 1 nok for 0.5 liter ones and 2.50 NOK for 1.5 liter ones. I ended up with a lot of people smiling at me and 524.50 NOK more in my wallet than when I came in :D. Haha. Goes right into my secret account (the pig on the kitchen counter :P)

Watching the opening trials for the norwegian shooter... pretty wierd to see how normal and well educated the man looks and sounds...
-
oooh no! TB, keep away from the sportscar listings!!
-
I could not resist. Now I want a car. :D
-
Ha! Mid-life crisis already or just lusting for a summer car?
-
Hehe, I sure hope it's not a mid life crisis yet. I'm saving that for the boat :P. Hehe. I grew up with cars in the garage, and have rebuilt a couple myself, and I always wanted a toyota mr2 - mk2 of course! So yesterday I told my wife I'm printing out a picture of it to know what I'm saving my money for hehe, and she had to agree it was really nice, but wondered if I was too old for having a car like that.... WTF? No IM NOT!!
