Hehe. Some neighbours are worse than others. I don't mind a little life in my neighbourhood. And so does my neighbours. I often play loud music (el. guitar or making dance music) with windows open hehe. Gotta harden the neighbours a bit :D hehe.

Last night, when missus went to bed, and I thought I should also go to bed because it was late. And I saw my two gm5x5x5 boards on the workbench - a while since I worked on them. So I fired up the soldering iron - it needed some pump-work also, so, I sat there pumping and soldering for 2 hours after bedtime. :). That stuff is dangerous, I never pay attention to time when I build, and to not pay attention to time when it's getting near 2 in the morning, that is dangerous. Gonna build some ...

sounds cool, but unfortunatly, newhaven hasn't got my choice of color. Need it to fit with blue/black, and either yellow or green combine well with those... :). If there only were white character displays to get somewhere... Else I'll end up with a 20x4 lcd... I'll give myself a little bit more time now to find a suitable oled, but if not, I'll get a lcd off ebay.

Reichelt have some white OLED(s)! Search 'em :) But alas, no 20x4 in white from Electronic Assembly yet.

Tried searching for em at reichelt, 2x16 only for white ones it seems. too bad. But if no, I will buy a 2x16 LCD with white characters on black. And when I can get white ones - I'm sure they are comming, and if they are compatible - I'll just swap em. The enclosure module for the buttons and LCD is going to be one part seperated from the rest of the enclosure, so worst case, I will just have to make a new enclosure for the LCD if it doesn't fit... But of COURSE - Keep hitting me w...

From time to time I have fun searching for the most expensive speaker / signal cable I am able to find. Today represent a new record for me. If u go for 2x6 meters instead, you have to show cash worth € 43 996,98. Yeah yeah, I know - there is a dramatically difference ...

True true hawkeye. Turns out having a kid means a lot more presents in the trunk of the car at the end of the day. But no midiboxes. I saw this electronics kit fro kids though in the shop here the other day, but I looked at it and thought, nah - this is really cheap stuff... It's like buying a kid a plastic hammer - why not just get the kid a small real hammer. much better. :)

Unfortunately that's more or less the entire living room/bedroom area so it's not all cave :( The synth gear sits in a corner.

hawk, u're doin it wrong man. Me and my wife has moved 2 times now, and the first room that get set up is the music room. Now I just gotta watch out and not get another kid while we live here in our current house, then - even I - have to be reasonable and give up the cave for kids room... so by the time we get another kid we will hopefully be moving into the house with my new cave. :)

Testing the SSD disk... Win7 install, about 5-6 minutes from DVD, windows startup - 9 secs, photoshop CS5 startup 1.4 sec, installing Cubase 5 less than 10 seconds. OH I AM HAPPY!

did the first two toner transfers ever for the psu. It turned out it is mirrored... :) lol. I was so obsessed on mirroring the design onto the board that I made the printout mirrored, so it got non-mirrored when I transfered it :D haha. stupid.

Got a new washingmachine. MMMMM Brushless motor. Even on full speed I gotta stop by the bathroom to see if it still runs - I can leave the ear protectors in my car now...!

Just started to train myself in pcb routing :). Had to get started with a simple circuit, so I made a layout for 8 banksticks on a very compact board. No bigger than the space that the ICs themself takes up. Next up is the mixer circuit for my stereoSID. Wish me luck.

My neighbour is brewing something in the kitchen. I'm sure it smells good inside, but outside with the kitchen ventilator it smells like he has both cats and dogs in the pots! Need a wunderbaum :D

Wish I had a camera to show my prototype of a psu for 6582. It's made of cardboard and wires :P Cheap protoboard :D Don't know if I dare start it up though :P

Started it up today. I gotta do something about the trafo, too high voltage. The DC at the 2200uF reads 23V, or I gotta get me some 18V regulators or something to get it down a bit before the 5,9 and 12v regulators. I already used a 7812 in series before the 7805. But at least without load it worked very well, but I expect the temp to raise a lot with load especially led matrix, so I gotta do something...

I didn't want to try to load the PSU as all the components is stuffed through cardboard - fire in livingroom :P

Just got home from work. 13 hours straight (with pepsi and smokes included) of installing alarm systems leaves little time for soldering and pcb making when I get home. Too tired! :)

Try not to rush it. It is much harder to find and correct any errors than to double check everything during building.

Nopes, rushing isn't a good idea :). I just soldered a pic socket the the wrong way... not the biggest misstake, but certainly enough to slow down even more!

I soldered some resistor arrays the wrong way on my MB6582, that's worse.

Oh joy and happiness. Finally Smashtv has shipped the items for my MB8582! :) me is happy and expecting a lot of fun the next weeks :)

Anyone interested in Waldorf knobs? One way or another there is going to be a smaller bulk order, so just PM me if your interested and we'll fix some knobs.
