  1. Ok,there you go! Goodluck, and if you got any questions, feel free, I'll be happy to help you! Cheers, Roel
  2. First I designed the panel with the free frontpanel designer tool from schaeffer. Then I printed it as a PDF file, and then I simply printed it on an aluminium label (sticker) with a laser printer. Works really well. I bought it here: http://www.mdaelektronica.nl/nl2/index.php?item=frontplaatfolie-aluminium-voor-laserprinters-a4--5-vel&action=article&group_id=20000644&aid=7268&lang=NL Only the site is in dutch, but it's an online electronic shop and you can buy the sheets there for 20,- euro's for 5 A4 sheets. It's specially used for prototype frontplates. I heard other people talk about this site: http://www.lazertran.com/ They also sell some kind of sheets for laserprinters, specially used by artist, but I don't know anything about that. On a dutch synthesizer forum I read about etching aluminium frontplates, looks realy well, there was a link to a tutorial, really interesting! here's the link: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/MarkMs-Gallery/album24/ Cheers, Roel
  3. Thank you, that's nice to hear! And to Jeff, I agree with nebula, it's not so hard as it looks. Download the zip-file and it will become all clearer as you start, and if you got any questions, just ask. And to digineural; You have a great design lying so get back to your project, it's a wonderful machine! Cheers, Roel
Werkt erg goed Groeten, Roel
  5. I agree with Julien, but if you really don't want to finish it I'll be glad to buy your box. I sended you a PM. Cheers, Roel
  6. Dear Night, I woukld like to buy your unfinished box, what would it cost to ship it to the Netherlands? Cheers, Roel

    MB Drumsequencer
  8. Hi Jef, Coinsidence?!, but yesterday I finished my MB808 standalone drumsequencer. It's great! Here are some pictures and words about it. I also didn't know how to start cause I couldn't find any wiring diagram. After a long search I came across a PDF file, I think it was from Digineural, it's called '808 hardware config', and there was the pinout. I decided to build some experimenters boards, 2 fully stuffed DINX4 and 2 fully stufed DOUTX4. Then I made a board with 32 buttons and 32 LED's. I attched them to my core, uploaded the setup_808_default hex file and there I had an experimental working drumsequencer! Now I only had to check if the pinout was the same as on the PDF file and it was. For clearance I made my own excel file with the pinout and then I started assembling the interface. I have dozens of simple switches so I used these and soldered them onto a breadboard. It was a lot of work but I used only stuff I had lying around, so except for the core, dins and douts my machine didn't cost my anything! For housing I used an old plastic elctrobox, and the lettering I printed on a aluminium label for laserprinters. Succes with your machine and if you got any questions I'l be glad to help you! I got a question myself: I can't get the global accent working. I changed the mdidport from 7 to 1 in the ASM file, compiled it and uploaded it to my drumsequencer. It seems to have effect, cause in Ableton I can program the accent steps now (C-4), and that didn't work with the default file. But it doesn't create a global accent. Anybody any idea? Cheers, Roel
  9. OK that would be great. My case is not so small as yours, 2 dinx4 and 2 doutx4 will fit easily so it's not a problem for me. I thought that you already recompiled the code so I could use my dinx4 for an other machine. I'll use the code as it is for now, I'll only enable the accent for the midi out, but that I can do myself. I'll post some pics when the machine is ready. Your idea looks really nice! Cheers, Roel
  10. Dear digineural, I'm building a small drumsequencer (MB808) myself and somewhere I found the '808 hardware config pdf' that you posted. It really helped my to find out how to wire up my machine, it worked. But I really like your modified din mapping, so maybe you want to share the .hex file?! Thanx anyway, Cheers, Roel
  11. Ok it's working now, I recompiled the code! I feel stupid now, cause I didn't have 'Active perl' installed on my computer, like the error message said. But I didn't read anything about it in the 'windows_toolchain_quickstart' WIKI page. Great application!

  13. I uploaded this version and my display shows the right information and I got a row of 8 burning led's. But as I start pushing the buttons attached to my dinx4 board nothing happens, also the encoder doesn't give any reaction. After pushing all my 32 buttons I found 4 working ones. 1>play 2>rew 3> start midi track 2 and 4> stop midi track 2. The led's for track 2 also go on and off. I attached 2 midi outs to j5 and both work, they send a play command when I hit 'global'play. When I upload this version; clockbox_v1_5ekx, everything seems to work as it should, encoder works and all the buttons, but I can't enable the multi clock output. I've been busy for hours to make a new project.hex file but I didn't succeed. So can anybody please upload or pm/email me the clockbox_v1_5ekx version, with the multi out enabled. Cheers, I would love to play with the shuffle and other extra features of this clockbox!
  14. When I want to create a new hex file with RUN>cmd> I get the next error message: Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] © Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. C:\Documents and Settings\Roel>cd C:\Midibox\clockbox_v1_5ekx C:\Midibox\clockbox_v1_5ekx>SET PATH=C:\MSYS\1.0\bin;%programfiles%\gputils\bin; %programfiles%\SDCC\bin;%PATH% C:\Midibox\clockbox_v1_5ekx>make 'perl' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Assembling MIOS SDCC wrapper ========================================================================== Compiling mclock.c 'perl' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. ERROR! C:\Midibox\clockbox_v1_5ekx> Is there anybody who can help me making my own configuration .hex files? I followed all the steps at the wiki, the quick one and the detailed one.
  15. Hi, So far I builded a midibox64 and a standalone drumsequencer (mb808)without any troubles. I didn't compiled a thing just used the standard programs. For my experimenting I use a full stuffed dinx4 and a full stuffed doutx4 board. I really like the midiclockbox with 8 outputs but unfortunately I can't get it to work. I started with the enhanced version and all seemed well. Display shows the right information and I got a row of 8 burning led's. But as I start pushing the buttons nothing happens, also the encoder doesn't give any reaction. After pushing all my 32 buttons I found 4 working ones. 1>play 2>rew and start and stop midi output track 2. The led's for track 2 also go on and off. And I attached 2 midi outs to j5 and both work. So I thought maybe something wrong with the DIN, lets try clockbox simple version. This aplication seems to work well completely. The encoder works and all the buttons, but it has no extra midi outs, so this is not an option, only for checking. Then I found on the forum clockbox_v1_5ekx, so uploaded this and that also seems to work well, except for the extra midi outputs. In the read me it says that those are dissabled by default, so I have to recompile the code. I've never done such a thing so I was a little excited and followed the quick start procedure precisely. But I only get error messages in the black screen. After that I started reading the detailed instructions and found the 'make version check' and it didn't succeed so I used the; c:\MSYS\1.0\bin\make.exe and that seemed to work, yes my first succes today! So I went on and tried all again with the new make line, but still nothing. The black screen says there's something wrong with the perl conmmand. I've been busy for hours now reading and trying but I'm totally stuck. Any help would be appreciated. Maybe someone can upload the clockbox_v1_5ekx hex file with the multi outs enabled so I can play with it. But I also want to be able to compile such easy thing myself. Any help appreciated, Roel
  16. I wanna be a happy fella!
  17. Hi, I noticed this bulk order too late but is there any chance I can still buy a board, or maybe two, with gm5 chip from you? Cheers' Roel
  18. It's working now! I new it would be as simple as changing the midi channel but I got stuck. The STC script wants midievents on channel 0 (=1 or 16). The midi channels of my two midibox buttons were 11 and 12, changing them to 1 did the trick!
  19. Ok thanx, I'm reading and reading, and since last week also soldering and experimenting with my core and AIN and DIN modules. And I'm really getting somewhere but sometimes I get lost in all information and my head starts swirling. I hoped I justed missed the shortcut to heaven, but I understand that I have to take the long way. Last night I was experimenting with this: http://stc.wiffbi.com/ It's a midi remote script for ableton to control the selected track. I thought I could use it with my midibox64 to control the selected track and navigate through the tracks. I put the script into Live's midi remote map and opened the control surface 'selected track control' in Live's preferences. Now I would be able to navigate through Live's tracks by sending controller 85 value 1 (for left) and controller 85 value 127 For track right. I tried it using a midi clip in Live with controller 85 changing from value 1 to value 127, and the selected track jumps from left to right and back again, so the script works. After that I configured my midibox64 with Serge's configuration tool to send cc85 value 1 from button 11 and cc85 value 127 from button 12. But when I press those buttons in Live nothing happens, except the flickering upper right, so Live gets the midi signal. Even when I manually assign button 11 or 12, with cc85, to do other midi stuff like scene up or down, live also don't react, but if I use a note on event Live does react. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, maybe someone can help?
  20. I'm looking for Stryd_one signature but can't find anything. Do you got another hint/tip. Cheers, Roel
