  1. Hi there, I know this a is little bit OT and may be not very contemporary: I have bought an old DX7S and thought about building a RAM-Cartridge by myself. Maybe someone here has some experience with this or knows where to find completed eagle files or a pcb to do this. Best regards, clem!

Any one out there who knows and can help ? Thx
  3. Has anyone tried to use midibox on a real piano? I know it's a no brainier to wire to solenoids but what about dynamic key response? I recently acquired an older Yahama with built in pianocorder and wish to replace the host controller with midibox. It works good as-is but has a 1/2 second delay which is intolerable, you can not hook a remote keyboard to it and play it live. Newer models allowed this "Feature" to be turned off but mine does not, I have dug deep into the circuits to try to trick it out but it comes down to the firmware in the host controller, the software must be reverse engineered and modified. My main expertise is hardware and wiring midibox to the existing drivers would be much easier for me but i will loose dynamic response which brings me to the question above. The drivers require pwm outputs from the host to set the strike pressure, so the velocity of the midi notes needs to be translated and turned to pwm for each pin output. Has it been done? I tried a quick search without luck so far. This feature would also be neat for driving LEDs as you could get variable brightness from them. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Jmayes
  4. Hi. I wonder if either (or both) the Yamaha CS50 or SK20 synths could be midified. I'd only be looking for note on/off. I know the CS50 has a MIDI kit already, but that's very expensive and adds a bunch of features I wouldn't necessarily want. Service manuals are here: http://www.cem3374.com/docs/Manuals/Yamaha/CS-50_SM.PDF https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4447157/yamaha_sk20_synthesizer_sm.pdf Thanks.
  5. Good day MIDIbox community, I'm thinking about making a MIDIbox CV for my Yamaha CS-10 synthesizer and I'm wondering if they'll work together. The Yamaha CS-10 uses Hz/V of C1 = 0.25V, C2 = 0.50V, C3 = 1.00V, C4 = 2.00V.. and therefore have different voltages then (for example) the Korg synths. I read in another topic () that there are problems getting the MIDIbox CV to work with these older Yamahas. Does anyone have experience connecting a Yamaha CS to the MIDI CV? I really like to know if it will work. Or can someone give me some advice to make it work probably? Otherwise I'll go and buy a Kenton Pro Solo but I prefer a DIY solution a lot more because I like to make things. I think the MIDIbox is interesting and a great project to work with! Another quick question about the MIDIbox CV: If I'll buy a MIDIbox core with a PIC that already includes a bootloader; do I need to buy a burner to write the MIDIbox CV application to the PIC? Thanks a lot. Cheers, Cesar
