Alkex built a MIDI controller into a Speak&Spell case! :)

Here is a photo of the latest midibox: Midibox Speak & Spell

A simple controller made for live performances

It has 6 encoders, 10 buttons, mapped to 16 banks.
You inc/dec the banks with the buttons either side of the analog crossfader which I ripped off a broken dj mixer.

It just came back from a live drum n bass party where it worked fine, under the rain!!!

Thanks again for bringing so much fun to us all!

Hi TD,

Glad you like my Speak n Spell,

I got the push buttons off ebay Item number: 300209169798

they are actually very standard buttons only with their "heads" pointing out of the panel rather then the whole body, if you get what Im saying...  ;)

Those buttons look similar to the ones for the MBSID LIVE concept. Correct me if I am wrong.

They do in fact. The buttons used in the sidLive concept are MEC 3F with 16U caps iirc.

In case someone is looking for these:

They're those ones :) They're a bit bigger than the MECs and a very different feel (I have some of both)
