Wilba
Atomic is a 16 step sequencer composing tool with a built in synth that also has the ability to control other softsynths or even hardware via it's MIDI out function. The design is circular which allows a different approach to composing and sound design.Inspired by circular step sequencers such as theBuchla Arbitrary Function Generator and Future Retro Revolution. Dedicated to electronic music pioneerAllen Strange (1943-2008)http://www.algomusic.net/ambatomic.htmlmaybe old news, but I found the demo an interesting toy to play with for a few hours, although all the time thinking about how a MIDIbox hardware version could be made ;D
ultra
can't have too many kinds of sequencing
stryd_one
Yay. I always wanted to make a circular CS for my seq, but it loses it's effect if you aren't using all of the steps on the circle :(Check out spiralsynth if you like this ... TheAncientOne
Been there and done it in the 70's. Looks good on full cycle, once you're using a shorter sequence length it gets lame very quickly. If you have multiple pots/layers the inner ones are very cramped.Would be very good as a virtual, where the circle would reformat to the number of steps. As a real - just mock it up with a card panel and some spare knobs - you'll soon see what I mean.A few of the guys on the elctro music forum have done it too: this is an MOTM format version of Ray Wilsons 16 stepper. There are 8 videos in total.<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value=" name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
