Hi, yesterday I played a little with fresh mandolane install and mios studio just fine, but today I can't make it work again, keep getting this message "Received SysEx message of less than 8 bytes.".

Things I tried so far:

Different midi interfases: midisport 4x4, tascam US428, GM5x5x5, same results on each one

Changed the core I was using to rule out some hardware error

Changed midi cables

reinstalled mandolane

activated 32bit on Java preferences

tried mios studio 9_3 and 9_4

all this without any luck

the mac is running with:

OS 10.5.8

java version "1.5.0_22"
Java™ 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_22-b03-333-9M3125)
Java HotSpot™ Client VM (build 1.5.0_22-147, mixed mode, sharing)

as a workaround I tried to go with the laptop, but had an old mandolane demo installed now expired, so out of luck there too and don't feel like buying a possibly broken piece of soft so...

is there anything else I should look for?(I can't tell what changed since yesterday, other than turning off/on the comp )

Are there any usable alternatives to mandolane?

thanks,

Freddy.

You can get around the expired demo install by deleting the license file. I'm not saying you should do that, I'm just saying you can :) I'm running 10.6.2 and do not have any problems with Mandolane but that's unfortunately really all I can offer :/
