Flemming
Welcome aboard romy :flowers: As findbuddha points out, you can find all the information you need on www.ucapps.de There you can all read about the Midibox64, but you will also find info on the different modules and their capabilities. You will have to do a lot of reading to find out what is possible, and how it is done. But quickly things will get more clear, and you will find out exactly what you need to build the MIDI controller of your dreams  You can also find a lot of info by browsing and searching the forum. Maybe other people have built boxes that looks like the one you dream about, and maybe you will be inspired too. If you get stuck, you can always ask for help here in the forum. findbuddha
It's not quite clear what you're going to be using your controller for.... is it to control a DAW (similar to a Mackie control: http://www.mackie.com/products/mcupro/)? If so, the Mackie control protocol is probably what you should look at. Try the MBLC project here: http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_lc.html It supports channel metering via LED, and if I recall correctly on the LCD too. It's done via MIDI however, so the latency is too high for most people. I don't know about using analog VU meters.
romy
yes, iam going to use it whit sonar. i gues mb lc is the best option for me my plans have changed a little 32 channel faders (motorfaders) rec, mute, solo, pan, for each channel a two main faders, transport buttons, a jog wheel and some more buttons i don t really know yet. lcd for each channel name(1 for every four channels and led display for time/postition but i still cant find out if i can use analog meters for track metering, i love the way it looks but if the delay is to high i might better foget that anyway thanks for the posts
