There is no special plug for this, it's meant to be used with DIN plugs.
So, yes, normal MIDI cable will work.

No. There is a special plug for this. It has a little ring on it that lets you screw it to the socket tightly. Absolutely awesome for stuff that stays plugged in for a while.There is no special plug for this, it's meant to be used with DIN plugs.
