kristal= Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 (edited) Cheaper sources: http://www.ebay.de/i...=item337d068e16 http://www.ebay.de/i...=item23249a7dd9 http://www.ebay.de/i...=item257741881b Still overpriced... Wasn't AndroSID selling SIDs for 24EUR? That's a reasonable price. Edit: Sometimes it's smarter to sell 30 SIDs for 780EUR than 3 SIDs for 174EUR. But that's just me. :cat: Edited November 7, 2012 by kristal= Quote

Could you please elaborate on your testing procedure? Edited November 8, 2012 by kristal= Quote
kristal= Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 @orange_hand: Don't laugh! These are the ultra rare 6582A! If they are tested thoroughly, I'll buy the whole bulk! But I'm curious, what testing routine EightBitHead was running. For 1980EUR I'd like to see a detailed testing protocol. Not that they turn out as rebranded 8580. Quote

Come on, guys, let the guy just try to sell the chips without making the comments  I do agree that they're overpriced but if someone pays for it just let him breath. Maybe he'll drop the prices in a month or two if he's unable to sell the load - it seems that few of the chips (well, one) were sold on eBay already so all we can do is wish him good luck and hope for price drop! But I'm curious, what testing routine EightBitHead was running. For 1980EUR I'd like to see a detailed testing protocol. Not that they turn out as rebranded 8580. I tested every single chip with my HardSID SE (4 chips at the same time) playing 8580 TestSong with Acid64 Player (where you can switch between the voices an filter to test it)... This ICs are original 6582A remainders in new condition - just once for test used (carefully!) n' they are no rebranded 8580s anyway... I'm not an impostor, my offer is true! And the price is fair, cause it was hard for me to find them on earth, war of nerves I can tell you! I don't need all chips, so I sell 75% of the ICs to you - if you like. Picture shows the last test session n' final config for my hardsid, maybe it's imagination - but I would say that they sounds better than the two 8580s I had installed before. Quote
Hawkeye Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) but I would say that they sounds better than the two 8580s I had installed before. which is highly unlikely, because they are identical - from the silicon chip perspective :-) edit: btw - it is a free market, you may sell them for whatever price you can achieve  Edited November 8, 2012 by Hawkeye Quote
kristal= Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 And the price is fair, cause it was hard for me to find them on earth, war of nerves I can tell you This sounds convincing to me. But I'm currently a little in limbo on whether I should take the next Lufthansa flight to HK and get in contact with these guys: http://www.chinaicmart.com/series-658/6582A.html I'm sure 55 rebranded 8580 plus a week in a 4 star hotel is within the 1980EUR budget. Quote

He is the broker that sells to the company I work for rare and obsolete ICs. What do you think about those sites? regards Antix Quote
kristal= Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) @Antix: I think you might missed the hidden irony tags. I'm not paying 64EURs for a 25EUR IC or fly to HK for that purpose. That's just absurd. My opinion on these sites: How do you make sure, they don't scam you? Maybe first get a sample and then order low quantities. Also use money you can afford to lose. :ahappy: Edit: Or try an escrow service: http://www.seekic.com/escrow/ Edited November 9, 2012 by kristal= Quote
