moebius Posted April 19, 2005 Report Share Posted April 19, 2005 Yes, they are.Not only my english sucks, but my math too, so combining these.. ;D But:Caps only marked by numbers are always in picoFarads.104 is read as 10 x 104 = 100000pF = 100nF  |______________|Now, somebody, explain this in proper terms, so I can learn those to..Bye, Moebius Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
smashtv Posted April 19, 2005 Report Share Posted April 19, 2005 Heya Adam!I clipped this:[tt]| C4 | Ceramic Cap 470 pF (471) | 1 || C1-2 | Polystyrene Cap 470 pF - for 6581 | 2 || C1-2 | Polystyrene Cap 6800pF - for 8580 | 2 || C3,6 | Ceramic Cap 1 nF=.001uF (102) | 2 || C12-13| Ceramic Cap 100nF=.1uF (104) | 2 || C10 | Ceramic Cap 330nF=.33uF (334) | 1 |Polystyrene caps are marked with actual value in pF not code[/tt]from this file.My site needs some updating..... ;)Moebius has it right on the code, all ceramics (and some others) are marked this way.bestSmash Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
airmailed Posted April 19, 2005 Author Report Share Posted April 19, 2005 thanks guys.. quick as a flash... it's 3.33am here.... i wasn't expecting that ;-) next question... it's a dual sid.. will the slave core board still run ok if i take the optocoupler socket off and chop it into a million pieces? (well, maybe 3 or 4, to make capacitor sockets to try different values out) i'm guessing it's ok if the midi in comes into j11 or whatever instead... but i like to obsessively check these things... moebius Posted April 21, 2005 Report Share Posted April 21, 2005 Thanx Smash ;)airmailed-- Well, that was a simple question with no "I don't understand this" content ;)You probably taken out the optocoupler and doin' your thang.. But to be sure, check: http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_link/tunnel1.gif for the connections.. just the way you did? ;)Bye, Moebius Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
