jakeb
I have made some wood shells to build electronic drums. This started as a project to build myself a set but I ended up making a few more than I need so thought I would offer them to others. I have about 15 shells right now to sell. I can make more if there is enough intrest as well. They are 3.5" x 10" wood shells coated with fiberglass resin. Some of the shells are coated on the inside and outside and others just on the inside. My first plan was to have them coated on the inside and outside but they are strong enough and easier to finish/stain/etc with just coated on the inside. They will accept a standard 10" rim and drum head. I also have 10" mesh heads that I have made that will fit them. I can either sell raw shells or shells with heads/rims/hardware/triggerI will sell the raw shells for $13/ea plus shipping. They are very light so shipping shouldn't be very much. You can choose between fiberglass resin on the inside and out or just on the inside. First come first serve. The inside/outside are a little bit stronger but the just inside will finish better. If you are interested in finished drums, with triggers/rim/hardware/mesh head I can do that for $45.00/ea plus shipping. These will come without a finish on the shell, ie. stain, paint, etc. But if you want me to do that to I can, price will depend on what type of finish you want. All of these drums are custom made so I can do pretty much anything you want or need.I also have trigger to midi brains available based off the opensource DIY kit by admir at www.edrum.info . These have 15 velocity inputs, either 15 single trigger inputs or a series of dual and single. As well this unit will handle a 8 position hihat pedal using a potentiometer. With the dual mode firmware the inputs will be configured this wayFive Dual Piezo inputs: Hi-Hat top/edge Snare head/rim Crash Cymbal 1 bell/edge Crash Cymbal 2 bell/edge Ride Cymbal bell/edge Two mode HiHat pedal operation: Pedal potentiometer Foot controller (CC04) Four Mono Piezo inputs: Bass Drum Lo Tom Mid Tom Hi Tom If you have experience soldering and/or with electronics you can build this brain yourself without much effort. To make it a little easier I had PCBs made. These are single layer boards with silk screen. They will need a couple traces soldering on in the top layer. Price for a set of PCBs is $22.00 shipped in the US via USPS.I can also supply all the parts or a fully built unit if needed.Kit includes: PCBs 8"x6"x3" plastic case all electrial components(including programmed PIC, LCD, potentiometers, etc) 1/4" panel mount jacks AC power cord Assembly directions All you need to add is time, solder, and wireThe Kit price is $95 shipped in the US via USPSIf you want me to build and test the brain please contact me.More pics of the shells and electronics can be seen at http://edrum.theguestroom.netIf you want to buy anything or have any questions, email me at edrumming@thguestroom.netthanks, Jake
