This is my very very first own song:

(yeah, I know, the host sucks!)

I do this just for fun and I'm interested in hearing your opinions.

Just say what you like and what you don't.

for having a better overview I've created a poll.

you can give this song points from 5 to 1 . (5=very good 1=sh**)

@TK: sorry for having stolen your song-name (Floating sequences), but I just didn't know how to call it  :-[ . I hope you can forgive me.

have fun,

matthias

Fine :)

I think that the synth sounds are a too dominant, I would add a delay fx which is synchronized to the tempo (but I must say that I'm a delay fetishist ;-))

The beats should be stronger, EQs and a compressor help to make them louder

And I'm missing the bassline, also a second synth hook overlayed to the pads would be nice

Best Regards, Thorsten.

Thanks!  :)

I'm always very happy when getting some suggestions to improve my songs.

As I'm usually playing in a rockband I don't have that much synthesizer

experience yet.

but I don't know what to do to avoid those midi-latencies.

P4, 3Ghz, 1024MbRAM, XP, E-MU 0404, ASIO-Driver....

I'm using Cubase LE as sequencer,a CS-80V, some freeware synths and ReBirth.

Sometimes it sounds like you have recorded the chords live

I've recorded everything live except the beat.

I was playing a bit around and then I found 3 chords which fitted and I thought myself "hey, let's give it a try". After that I've Improvised a bit and recorded everything live via MIDI.

nice little ditty, im with thornsten on the tenicalities ...compression, mixdown arrangements & maybe bassline would all contribute.

Mind doesnt mean you have to take a totally conventional composing approach to 'improve' on what you have ;) Use those concepts as starting point guides, to compare to, and work from :)

..sling it all togeather anyway you like ..experiment, lots ...just follow what you feel works & see where that takes you :)

thx!

btw. can somebody explain me how to use a compressor?

I've done some searching on the internet and it seems like adding

a comp is the easiest thing in the world but somehow i don't

know how to use it.

Maybe i'm just to stupid  ???

I've compared my song to TKs "Shades rmx" and especially the beat is

completely different...

Hi, thank you for giving us chance of lisenning your song :)

For me it is too short! I also very like delay, and sometimes explosives reverb like in reggae dubs.

More filters and air. This air can give you longer timing.

I noticed "something" good who is most important so I recomending you making a lot of songs for improve.
