bulut
Hi there,I have just bought a 2nd hand Novation NOVA (analog modeling synth) and have to replacethe potentiometers. How can I know what type of potentiometers to buy unless Novation tells me?I have contacted them but this is taking too long. I have no experience with this, so please help. Thanks in advance! ;D
stryd_one
Welcome aboard! There are probably some kind of part number on the pots, otherwise you can measure the resistance with a multimeter. Hope that helps!
bulut
Welcome aboard! I read that these are called "rotary encoders" becausethey are digital, sending MIDI etc. Can those also be measured with a multimeter? By the way I dont evenknow what a multimeter is and how to use it but should not be hard to use I guess :)Will let you know about what happened. I hope I can tell the difference between pots and encoders.Anyone any other suggestions?
DavidBanner
pots have a stopping point at either end of the travelencoders just keep on turningkeep reading, all of this stuff is on the site

moxi
I think your Nova is using pots, not encoder (if it's build as my KS synth)...
