mattias Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Hi all!!My sequnecer is taking form. Just a couple of days left. Waiting for front panel!! I decided to go for encoders with push buttons for the GP butttons and a 4x40 LCD display. I know it has been discussed before and it its not recomended. I will get back on the subject, dont think it matter that much and i like the idea of a different design. Mine will be kind of like like the schrittmacher. So we will se if its OK... ::)Now my question.. Does it make sence to put the CORE MIDI out on the box? Is it usable at all? As I see it it will bring 5 midi outs if you are not using the midi in on the core. Or does it interfer with the IIC in to? ??? I will use two IIC midi it to start with, I think its OK with 2 or maybe 3 ports for 16 midi channels. Opinions please! ;) Quote
TK. Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Yes, under certain circumstances the core MIDI out can be used as additional MIDI port.It will work stable so long no bytes are received on the core MIDI In. So, it's ok, so long no keyboard is connected to the sequencer, and/or no MIDI clock is received from external.Best Regards, Thorsten. Quote
mattias Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 What about mid IIC in? ::) Can I use that and core midi out? Quote
TK. Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Yes, so long you want to control the arp and transposer with a MIDI keyboard. But MBSEQ doesn't receive the MIDI clock via IIC MIDI, and MIOS updates are not possible as well - therefore it's important that the core MIDI In is available as external port.Best Regards, Thorsten.
