Grr, i've send many emails to JoMoX for an OS upgrade form my airbase99 that have some bug in the old OS but they never answare.

Sice there isn't the possibility to upload via MIDI Dump the OS, i must burn the pic by myself.

the 2 pics are PIC17 model, tomorrow i post the entire part number.

I would ask, i'm not so inside electroni, if i can use the PIC burner and mios.

thankyou

This approach won't work. The PIC17 is a very different chip, it especially has only an OTP (one-time programmable) memory instead of flash. Therefore it will be dangerous to program it with a cheap PIC burner, if this has never been tested before. With bad luck you will quickly loose two or three PICs and a lot of money.

In addition, the MIOS bootloader is located at a special memory range which is probably overlapped by the firmware. And it would require a special adaption for the PIC17 derivative...

Unfortunately my PICstart kit (which can burn PIC17 chips) doesn't work on my PC anymore due to a missing COM port, otherwise I would be able to help you

Best Regards, Thorsten.

thanks for the support TK, but i haven't find a starter pic for cheap.

so i would UP this thread if some one can burn it for me when i will buy.

pics are:

PIC17C43-16/P

PIC17C43-33I/P

the firmware it's only one, so i think it must burn same on both pic?!

JoMoX is totally LACK of info..

i'm going to hate them.
