Just picked up the "You can code" linux format special. I've not had chacne to read through it, but ti seems to give a nice introduction to various different types of coding as well as a section on programming the Arduino.

Costs £9.99, could probably get a coding book for cheaper but I think it's worth it. COmes with a distro CD with distro, tutorials, code sample, etc on it too
