am i obliged to use acid to retrieve SID from c64 mother board or there is a better method to achieve this objective without damaging the pins? thank you!  ;)

I used a good knife to go between the IC and the IC holder.

Just let it slide under there (don´t try to get it up already!) completely. You can use kinda power, too. You are nearly unable to destroy anything.

As soon as you recognize the SID getting loose, you can easily pull it outa there.
