Lcd question

Hi there!

Just cannibalized an card reader with an Seiko 16*2 display with el backlit works just fine!( for my SIDs)

Take a while for me to understand why the backlit doesent work (Took a look at the cardreader pcb an saw the dc/ac converter! ;) ).

Here is my question:Can I use it? or can I damage the the core with the el backlit (seems to work).

Hi Christoffer,

fine fine - yes, you can use it without the risk of damage. But note that EL foils have a lifetime of just only some thousand hours. So maybe you should add a switch in order to activate the backlit when you really need it.
