predefined buttons on DIN module

There are predefined inputs (exec, right, left, snapshot etc) on the DIN module, right?

Can i use these for my own 'custom' buttons? (i want 32 buttons)

Do i have the change the MIOS software to bypass these functions?

I don't really need an LCD, so i guess i don't need the menu-buttons either.
