  2. Hi again,

I've been away from midi for while before coming back a few weeks ago, I have to apologize, but I srickly forgot the existence of this thread, as it was just before holidays  . Just found it in my "followed threads"....

So for those who might have the same issue, it's working now, it was just a matter of app programming.

Anyway, thanks to you guys for your help

    best

  3. Hello Spirit and TK, thanks for your replies!

To Spirit, I forgot to say the default .ngc us working with some "duet" din, but not with some others ( example: din 1 + din 2 are ok, din 2 + din 3 doesn't work, but din 1 + din 3 work).

I've been reading carefully the "first steps" page, and started to make my own file. After writing the 160 input code lines, only a few din were working, this is the moment I have reloaded the default ngc file, to see if I did something wrong. And after... I asked for your help :)

To Tk, thanks for your help, I'm away till tomorow night, so I will try as soon I'm back home.

Anyway, thanks to you guys for your care, I'll report tomorow night

    Kind regards

    Bibi

By the way, when I try to format my sd card using the format sd card command in mios studio, I get no response from my lpc, need to restart it and the sd card is not recognized anymore. I need to set the lpc to "sdcard reader" and format it with the windows xp tool (the sdcard is not seen under mac os). Does this bug comes from my setup or is there others similar cases?

    Thanks to you

    Bibi

  4. Hi guys, thanks for your answers!

To Spirit => I meaned the .NGC automaticly created by the ng application, but I believe this is the same (after a quick look at it), and no, I didn't change anything in it.

To Altitude => It seems wierd to me as the 4 din modules are perfectly working under midio128, no latency, even with long cable chaining.

Also, on the design decription at ucapps.de, nothing is specified concerning the lose of signal, it's said that you can get up to 256 buttons directly connected to din modules. So If we can't chain more than 2 modules, why is it not specified? Dout modules are ok (5 chained modules), is there a real difference in treating the signal  between din and dout?

TK, if you read this, could you confirm this?

    Thanks to you all.

    best regards

    bibi

  5.

Edit: I have loaded the last midio128 application, I'm now able to send midi from 4 din modules, thing that I can't get with the ng app. So I guess it is software related. I've tested with different versions of the ng app, same result.

I have formatted my sd card, reloaded the ng app again, it doesn't work either

Any idea of where to look at?

    Many thanks

  6. Hello everybody!

I'm facing a problem with my midi box ng:

I have 5 din and 6 dout witch are chained in a specific order (please have a look at the pic, red numbers gives the module chaining order),  and at this moment number 2 (din witch will be wired to encoders) is bypassed.

With the default ngc file loaded,  all leds are lit with the "dout all 1" command, but I have a problem with the din: Only a part of the din modules is sending midi.

If I test each din directly to the lpc, they are working well, but when I try to chain the whole thing, I can't get it work, even if I bypass the dout modules...

Of course, all connection cables verified, they all work separatly

Is there an order to respect in chaining the din/dout modules?

I'm quite sure I didn't get everything right but I can't figure out what I forgot  to do?

    Thanks for your help

    Cheers

  7. Well, it seems like connecting my lpc to mios studio on my mac fixed the problem, the default files were back on the sd card. Back to mios studio on windows xp, the files are back as well.

Mios studio 2.4.5 installed on both mac and windows os

    bootloader version: mios32_bootloader_v1_012

    midibox ng version : V1.026

  8. Hello everybody

    Here's my problem:

After changing from midio128 to midibox ng on my lpc17, I had the sysex issue message "error#14". But the midibox ng is working fine, except that each time I want to load a program it stops uploading it and error#14 comes on. Same thing for the bootloader

So I have reloaded the bootloader with j27 pins connected, it worked

Then I loaded the midibox application, it worked too

After this, I decided to format my sdcard, just in case, and restart with a fresh, blank new card. I used the sdcard_format command.

Now, mios studio says it can't load/create the .ngc, .ngl, etc... files, and when using the mios file browser the sd card is empty.

I did it several times but I can't get the initial config files to be automaticly created. Any idea? Thanks for your care.

    Best regards.

  9. Hi gma, thanks for your reply, it's my turn to apologie, didn't come here for a while...

For Chris software, no problem , I understand !

About the two onpc running in the same network, it is working, you need to configure them in "full tracking" mode, this is used as backup solution, so everything you do on one desk is reproduced on the other one

with some exceptions : buttons to change between screen 1,2 and 3,

Button to change between encoders, exebuttons, fader1/10 and 11/20. So basically,  with 3 onpc in the same network, we could have 20 faders and the 3 screens at the same time and make a fullsize desk

Thanks for the numeric caps, I'll take a look at!

I hope  your project is getting well,

Mine go slowly for now  ;)

    Best wishes

    Bibi

Edit: I just remarked the "follow this topic" button ... Sorry about that :(

  10. Hello fellow,

I could'nt find an answer in the forum but I think someone could confirm:

I'bought white led that I want to use with some dout. Specifications of the Led are:

    3.2/3.4 V

    20 mA

As they're too bright, I'd like to lower them with resistors. I did some tests and foud that the right brightness would be around 12 Kohm...

Is it ok to "mix" the original 220 ohm resistors with 12 K resistors on the same dout pcb??

    Many thanks to you guys.

    Best

  11. Hi GMAprogrammer,

First, congratulation for your work, this is impressive!

I am in the same situation as you,

I was first trying to make a control surface for preprogramming my shows at home, so I decide to built one from 2 BCF2000, then I found Chris's blog and was blowed by his work: I decided to move to midibox as well.

I passed lots of time looking at the forum and chris blog, and finally ordered the pcbs from smashTV.

I have some questions you maybe could answer to:

about linking software from grand ma on pc to midibox, mine is only working with version 6.5, did chris find a way to make his work with all versions without searching for the right adresses without recompile the software when a new update is coming?

    - My project has two screens like yours, but grand ma on pc only allows for one view (I meen either exe 1 to 10, exe 11 to 20, or encoders. I thought I will put two computers in one session (also perfect for redundancy if one computer crashes) one for exe 1 to 10 screen, and one for the encoders screen. Did you find a trick to do it with one computer?

    - Where did you find the numeric digitast caps? Did you do them on your own? Couldn't find them on the net…

Thanks in advance for any reply

here are some pics of the project,

    Best regards

    Bibi

Edit: There was a problem with upload so I did it again, sorry!

  12. hello, and sorry for the delayed post. I've been experiencing some crashes with codeblocks, so I reinstalled the software and reconfigured it for mios...

"My proposal was to enter "make clean" in the command shell (of your operating system)" Oops...Sorry, I thought it was in codeblocks! In CB, there is a command to "clean" the project, I belive this is quite the same as a "make clean" command in the command shell...?

anyway, when I enter: "make clean" in the command shell (win XP SP3), it returns: "No rules to make target clean"

And with Codeblocks the Hex file was still compiled for a STM32 processor.

So I removed the "project_built" directory, and now I have LPC17 HEX file that I am able to load in the LPC processor. Cool!

However, the command shell still returns the same when I enter a "make clean" command, and Codeblocks gives me the same "cleaning" error. How is it bad? Can I go with it ?

    Below, the build log :

    -------------- Clean: Release in Test midio128 ---------------

  13. Hi Everyone!

Working codeblocks, I've successfully built the tutorials 001_midi_forward app, and uploaded it with mios studio 2.2.4 to my LPC17.

Now I try to build the mios128 v3 application. Codeblocks tells the app is built for LPC processor but when I try to upload it to My LPC17, mios studio reads:

    "STM32 Flash

Hex file contains invalid range for mios32 lpc17"

I'm sure it's a simple thing but don't know where to look at. If someone could help me...

    Many thanks

    Bibi

Here is the build log from codeblocks:
